Okay, saw the movie. I'm kinda mixed on the situation. Like most people, I did like like the first half. Thought it was fairly humorous in a charming way for the most part. I also like the revelation of Hancock's origins. Thought it was a bit more interesting than just a mere government experiment creating a super soldier or whatever.
My negatives deal mainly from the damn plotholes that occur after the twist.

Why did Hancock get hurt when he wasn't anywhere near Charlize Theron? I mean, you would think it was instantaneous, as the ending implied when he just jumped out the hospital and quickly regained his powers. Oh, and also what was Charlize Theron going on about before the fight between her and Hancock broke out? I probably missed a crucial moment or something, but didn't she say that the reason she left was because Hancock kept interfering with her life or something?
The trailers did a really shitty job of making you that surprised about Charlize Theron's role, I mean you can fucking guess what may happen just by Hancock's statement 'I'm the only one of my kind'. This movie is very simiilar to 'Jumper' where you have a pretty interesting mythos that's present, but not given a chance to be expanded and explored. Probably the only other major issue was not having a real supervillain. God, what the hell,

that hook guy was fucking lame.
Speaking of villains, why the hell do these dumbass prisoners, who having previously been on the receiving end of Hancock's boots think that they stand any more than half a chance against this motherfucking monster? I hate it when the writers don't think of this sort of thing.
Oh, and interestingly enough, I didn't have a problem with the fact that the movie changed tones in the final act. Truth be told, I don't really understand the complaints, since I thought it was kinda similar to Spiderman in that regard. *shrug*
I think Hancock a really cool premise, just needed a tad better execution, clear up some of the conflicting issues about the powers, and get a better villain, and it would have been great. It's a helluva lot better than I am Legend, that's for sure.
All in all, Hancock > Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Btw, as you might have already guess, the prison scene was fucking stupid. Godddamn Bergmen.
