Resistance 2 was shat on quite bit in the latest GAF thread, some of the criticism was well justified, but the rest was mostly the typical GAF cruise-controlled "generic and uh, like brown and stuff" trolling. Yet somehow, Stevenson keeps a cool head, presumably in part because of confidence in the product, but also certainly in no small part due to the fact that it's part of his job description to interact with the community and keep cool. In some ways it's a shame that the founders and famous dudes don't interact directly with the communities, but as said, Denis has fueled, and continues to fuel this shit all on his own. He has proven that he has very little genuine interest in even absorbing criticism, and he's very inconsistent in his views (for example, magazine previews and random people talking about his game without having played it seem to be bad things only when the impressions are negative).
Some give him credit for having balls and a straight spine, but I'm not seeing that at all. He's very evasive on criticism, typically failing to respond until he's managed to somehow (convince himself that he's managed to) twist it to his favor, or what seems to be his favorite response, move the goal post and disown his previous claims. And the balls, that seems more like an inability to let shit go, and while I'm sure every single person in this thread has at some point kept an argument going (or sunk with the ship) simply because it's been damn hard to let it go, most of us don't act as spokespeople for companies with high profile game titles in development.
