At what point does the show stop being all moody and morose?  Something about S1 I never liked, and never really bothered to pick it up from there.  Though at some point they did just turn it into Buffy.....which is where I'd like to jump on.

Season 2.  Just skip the first season entirely, I say.  I've tried to sit through it a few times, and it never took.  The rest of the show is generally pretty good.

It stays moody and morose through the whole run (the first four seasons anyway), though there's plenty of humor.  Season 2 and on are more story-arc-y though.  I liked 2 and 3 best.  4 and 5 were disappointing in opposite ways.

5 had a lot of entertaining bits, but I found nearly all the story arc material and treatment of its themes unsatisfactory.  Finale was pretty good though.

4 was sort of the opposite like I said: the central story themes were handled well, but scene by scene there wasn't enough of teh clever and amusing to be had.  Replaced by action and fanservice, I guess.
