Update: Darren Aronofsky IS helming new Robocop

I'm suddenly interested in them remaking this film again. Of course, in a few days it will come out that the story was false, and my interest will plummet back to zero. It sure would be different, though.

btw, why does it have to be a remake, they can easily make a sequel that takes place after Robocop 3 or even better, Robocop 1.

I dunno.  Aronofsky wouldn't be on a list of 10 directors that spring to mind when I think of Robocop.  He's never shown a sense of humor, and I think his sort of preachy tone won't mesh well with the very overt world of the first Robocop movie.  I really don't expect this remake to be a big, let's try something new movie.  At the moment I don't particularly buy that Aronofsky is attached.

You're right on all points, but for me those are sorta why I find it interesting. I'd be really curious to see this one make it to theatres.
