I played through Duke Nukem way back when but I'll be damned if I can remember anything about it outside of the first level where you enter the theater.

it had a neat joke where they made fun of Doom. I think it was a church in a prison that had a dying space marine and Duke goes "Thats one doomed space marine"

I hope they upgrade it like Marathon and it's not just a straight port of the original. After playing the Duke 3D High Res pack I don't want to go back to the original's textures and graphics

Man. Can 3D Realms handle advanced promotion any more poorly? Maybe they just feel too burned by the Duke Nukem Forever dev process and are suffering from PTSD and unable to accept ANY ship date as valid anymore.

yeah it has 'The Birth' episode included (which is quite good iirc) as well as the original 3 (which are completely fucking awesome)

okay so played a bit, port is spot on but an actual high res version would have been good.

Lots of people playing 'dukematches' online so Ive already got the 100 kill achievement, got the stripper, shrinker and turd achieves also.

Whats cool is theres an achievement stats screen which counts the number of baddies shrunk, kills online and secrets found, theres even a tally of secrets per level, so you can check which ones youre missing. and you can go to any stage from the main menu (provided youve been reached it once before)

Whats really cool is that if when you die you can auto respawn to anywhere youve been in the level, the game defualts at 20 seconds before you died, so essentialy its quicksaving alllll the time, you can evn jump back several minutes so you cant dig yourself in to a low health/ammo trap

yeah, higher-res would've been nice, but i doubt we'd have gotten so many levels if that were the case

Characters move too fast, everyone's sliding on ice. By the time I found someone, they had fuckin Chaingun and shit, haha. Then again I don't know the maps.

yeah dukematches are weird but you get heaps of kills real easy, I got 100 in like 5 games last night, the 500 shouldnt take too long.

The achievements are cake really, there should have been one for beat all levels on Come Get Some or something

The one where you beat the first level in 3 minutes is easier than I thought. I did it in 1:32. I tried the trick that I saw in some YouTube vids to do it within 15 seconds, but I keep whiffing and get killed.

And of course, I have the tip-the-stripper achievement. I will wear that one as a badge of honor.
