The fact that 1up has pushed them as personailities is the reason why their podcasts are generally the more enjoyable ones out there. Hell ive become a fan of GFW and the last game i played on a pc was WOW and i quit that a year ago.

Though ill admit i really enjoy playerone and giantbomb.

I watch the 1UP show every couple months.

Relentlessly hairy dudes in Wip3out t-shirts trading "ummm" filled game impressions while the camera dances around like got lost going to a Next! taping.

I miss the early days of G4 when they'd just have some hot young lady dance and spin while they played game footage in the background. THAT'S how you do game television.

They try. I mean, the forum even got an overhaul a while ago to make it more like neogaf. It can't help but suck. It is one of those places where people probably post to talk to the workers there, almost like how IGN functions, also less awful. Not to mention some users over there though they could just steal ideas from neogaf and have them work over there, but sadly they were mistaken.

The only podcast that has snarky douchebags is Retronauts. That is mainly because Jeremy Parish likes to pretend he is 'old skool' when he is wrong about 100% of games he talks about, and Sharkey is that guy who is constantly stuck in the mentality of acting 'too cool for school'. Not to forget how much Parish thinks of himself as some important being who is harming himself by doing his podcast he hates so much. One of the best episodes of Retronauts was when he wasn't there.

GFW is amazing most of the time and 1upyours is entertaining. 1up FM is also interesting despite them fucking up the backlog by doing Psychonauts (again a product of the horrible forums over there).

I like Psychonauts, I really do, but the constant cock in the mouse attitude this game gets is gross. Not only was this game already done in 1upyours where they all got bored of it, they had 3 other games, including God Hand, yet they all picked this. Two of the four people who choose even said they really wanted to play God Hand. Fuck the forums and just make it God Hand.

From everything I've seen Killzone 2 still hasn't sold me on the gameplay. It looks beautiful but I'm not yet convinced it'll be an engaging shooter.

I'm not sure what picture you are talking about. I am talking about times in podcasts like in the music one where he reads a mail where someone says the Tetris theme is his favorite one. It just comes off as him insulting the guy and making it seem like woe is him for having to read such a cliche response. That is just one example.

There was the video Retronauts called bonus stage or something that was stopped because he didn't get the video equipment that he wanted to film or edit it in. That can slide and is slightly understandable. Then are are situations like when he complains about having to edit the podcasts, or doing long podcasts, or other thing around that line. I mean, I understand that he is doing this for the fans, but do you really have to piss and moan like you are doing everyone this huge favor by doing this? well, you are, but you don't have to act so high and mighty like it is a burden to do it.

And just because I think they are snarky douchebags doesn't mean I don't appreciate the effort and listening to the podcast, but they can learn from the elder Garnett by doing everything with an inebriated smile. Garnett does everything and still has time to hit on Jade Raymond when drunk.
