So far, I'd rank it similar to ED:  janky, broken, but in the end, kinda okay in a mediocre way.  It's not terrible.  Except the camera, which just spun around me in a circle for an entire fight.

If Dyack didn't yap his fat face, he'd have a nice cult game here.  A cult game that cost like 80 million dollars.

Well, I don't want to judge off a demo, but at this point I'd probably rank it a smidge higher than Haze.  This, so far, is maybe a notch below Heavenly Sword quality.

Took me a bit to get used to combat but I like the interplay of melee and ranged stuff shown here. The secondary fire grenade launcher was fine for crowd control and I think this would've been so awesome with 4p coop. Couple front line people with some support gunners would've been so fun.

Are you judging only on demos?

Judging only based on demos I would say Too Human is at Heavenly Sword's level and better than Haze.  Heavenly Sword as a full game was pretty good and if Too Human is more of the same (which it will be), I will say HS is better.  Never played the full Haze.

Also, the UI is kind of a mess.  I don't mean the in-battle UI, but the menus are all pretty ugly or confusing.

And I can't emphasize how boring the skill tree included in the demo looked.  The only worse skill tree I've seen is probably Hellgate.

This will be a 6-7 game, and I am sure it will have some fans.  I'll nab it because it's pretty easy and I'll get it cheap.

Also, the ice skating combat is lol.  And the whole cybernetic fantasy thing is still distinguished mentally-challenged.  And lol at SK trying (I assume) to ape a Halo feel at the beginning.

Heavenly Sword is like 5 hours long (not exaggerating), so that isn't hard.  I wasn't that tired of the combat by the end of the Too Human demo.  I mean, it was bad, but it wasn't so much combat as it was holding the analog in one direction and checking your pulse.  The demo was about 1 hour long, the full game is 10 times that!  I can probably do it.

And yeah, I can't believe they fucked up the pause menu.  Why even have equipment on select if when exiting it takes you to the pause menu.  That is just so stupid to me that someone can miss something so simple.

The only thing I strongly disliked about the combat was using the right stick to aim while using the right trigger to shoot.  For whatever reason my hand didn't quite grok that.  The combat in general is clunky, but that's the only huge complaint I have.  I dislike the Ice Capades, but at least it works.

I've always been kind to Too Human 'cause I've genuinely liked SK's other games and I'm always up for a Diablo clone but man alive if that demo didn't stink.  About the only real positive I got out of it was that I kind of liked the menus.

That blows my mind.  You literally play this game by holding the analog stick one direction.  I even beat the second robot gorilla without getting hit once.  I'm not even very good at all games! I died over 100 times in NG2.
At first I tried to hit A, but he just jumps off. Then I tried to hold left or right on the left analog stick, because I thought it was a balance game. Didn't do anything. Then I tried to hold down on the right analog stick, like I would do if I wanted to swing my sword down. Didn't do anything. I tried flicking it up then down, didn't do anything. During this process, I accidentally flicked it left and right, and noticed the robot seemed to move in response.

So fuck you, the stupid analog stick controls your sword for 90% of the game and all the sudden it makes you lean left and right.

Is that how that was supposed to work.  I could not figure out what the damn game wanted me to do.  I just started moving the sticks and smashing the buttons and it died.  I rarely quit a demo, but this one got deleted after that fight.  Game is as terrible as it looks in videos.  Troll with clean conscious, duckman.

Especially from a supporter of the console that brought us Haze, Heavenly Sword, Lair, and a bunch of shit that never even came out.

Oh come on now, I don't even like HS, but it certainly doesn't belong in that group. I doubt Too Human does either, but really now.

Actually, what's the last list warz 360 game that turned out to be a dud? Ninety Nine Nights?

Just off the top of my head...

Two Worlds
Blue Dragon
NG2
Lost Odyssey

No one hyped Two Worlds, other than that you just made yourself look like a fucking distinguished mentally-challenged fellow.

MS dropped Stranger's Wrath, but kept this?

Good point, wtf

I have a hard time believing anyone on the team could be proud of this product, it's so slapshod

Why couldn't he just let the face buttons attack? The game would be passable and a sleeper hit with that change and some toning down by Dyack.

Had a quick play when I went home for lunch - it seemed OK.

I wish the camera look function worked in 360 degrees from first person view because I'd like to look around a bit more.  There's lots of height to the levels but you're spending most of your time looking at the floor.  I also ended up using the closest camera since I didn't mind not seeing all the enemies at once and that way everything wasn't so teensy.

I also wish the camera snap moved to position very quickly rather than just changing position since it can be a little disorienting.

I'm interested to play tonight at a slower pace and explore it a bit more.

Once you go out there where he is, can you go back in the building?  I tried to run back, but I wouldn't get back in.  I was pretty sure I was up against the door, but since the camera was pointed IN THE OPPOSITE FUCKING DIRECTION I have no idea.

I just played it for the first time. Sometimes I like the gameplay, for example when I did a 165hit combo and was hopping from enemy to enemy and sliding my way to a mini-boss (almost platforming). The weapon, loot and armor system is pretty cool too. Sometimes I get frustrated with the controls and feel like I'm not in control of my character and I am just fumbling. Graphics can be competent, animation isn't as big of a deal when you're playing as the videos make it seem, still not good though.

Cutscenes and facial models are mostly goofy, especially the eyes. Don't like the flashbacks either. The fusion of Norse mythology and sci-fi sounded cool, but doesn't really feel executed well. The concept art looked better.

I don't know, based on the demo there's a chance I could either get into the gameplay of the full game and get competent at it or I'd get bored with it. I'll probably rent it.

i liked the demo way more when I played for the second time. I completed all the optional stuff like the time challenge and the big fight at the 3 way intersection and got some good loot out of it. At the end I got a complete matching yellow armor set

I don't know, it's still mired with flaws and problems, but at least the loot system draws you back.

also, I didn't know the back button takes you instantly to equipment. Saves at least a bit of time

Man, the game feels really janky.  I was surprised at the ugly, jerky looking cutscenes, the ultra stiff animation, horrible camera, etc.  I will have to give it another shot, but the initial impression was extremely poor.  I'm not ready to pass judgement yet, of course, but that's not a good start.

The title screen was neat looking at least.

I thought the graphics were surprisingly decent, but the actual game was so insanely confusing, I had no idea what I just played. Control scheme was awfully obtuse and overcomplicated, combat was stupid (I thought the game was a DMC type game from the onset, but the controls do all the work for you, like FFXII), the status menu and equip menu takes a little while to load and are poorly laid out, story makes no sense at this point, you seem to keep jumping to new areas in the demo with no context as to what's going on. I went in one room, and a timer started ticking down for no reason at all... I was so confused by this game I can't tell whether I enjoyed it or it was horrible.

Uhhh, I think you just suck at this game.

I fucked him up without getting hit once with my lvl 5 guy using a lvl 1 hammer (I accidentally sold my flame sword).  Get any enemy in the air and it is an instant win.

I will say that this game does have good loot.  When I killed that stupidly easy boss, it dropped cool looking stuff.  I wanted to try out the lvl 8 sword, but I ended the demo as lvl 7.  There was even a hammer and shield that was lvl 9.

A few small niggles aside (like the framerate moving around and some walking animations) it's actually growing on me a bit.  I played about an hour last night and have been thinking about it since then which I guess is a good sign.

My biggest complaint is that there isn't a normal, simple first-person look camera.  The environments are quite nice and I'd like to look around, but the distinguished mentally-challenged look camera has an annoyingly limited range.

I want to look at a giant statue but all I can see are his goddam knees. >:(

Sounds like forced training and acceptance of mediocrity to me.

The skill trees are so boring and bad.  If I were an RPG character, my skill tree would probably be more exciting.

I've never played a game like this before, so that's probably part of it.

I started enjoying it when I realized I could fire my guns at two enemies at once, then I got a bit of teh bonar when I got the assault rifle with grenade launcher. If there are really like 50 different guns I could see why this game would be fun, and I don't mind the newbie nature of it all.

How does switching classes work? Do I have multiple save files, or I switch whenever I want, or what?

Finally downloaded.

So far: Graphics are mostly ugly.

Gameplay isn't bad. It's just kind of.... nothing. Boring. Uninteresting.

It's not really worth any hate or praise.
