GPS systems, what about the PSP?

My stepdad wants to get a car GPS system, I know the PSP can be used as one, but is it any good? How does it compare to same price dedicated GPS systems?

i think i'd suggest a stand alone gps rather than a psp w/ accessory just because of the dedicated functionality.

Also, in the US at least, you can get good gps systems for much less than the asking price of a PSP
