Haha, well I have a pretty nice job, so its not really that. The commute kills my soul, especially when it stretches past the two hour to/from mark. Then I get really bitter and angry.

amber: I live further north than Drinky. I spend an additional 15-25 minutes driving TO the 405, then I carpool with Drinky to work. Carpool lane keeps the commute one way to like 30 minutes which is just grand, and awesome for gas.

Not carpooling is a death sentence, however. Especially on the way home, so today im going in a little later and heading out around 6:30 to avoid traffic. Its all that can be done.

The MAF trail of tears. 30 minutes on a good day, 1 hr on a workday. Truth be told the commute in AZ was worse. That was East Mesa to Downtown Phoenix and that was 45 minutes one way, and I did both ways 5 days a week. I have a long horrible history with commuting.

I use to commute 45 Minutes to my job when I was a computer technician. I had to use Rte.2 in Massachusetts and that highway is like a death trap. I remember some dude on the right lane kept trying to pass me in his super big 4x4 offroad truck and there was torrential rain happening at that moment. I wanted to jump to the right lane to let the fucker pass but there was a line of people and I had to stay with my crappy station wagon I got for free. wtf

Well, a dog pile-up can triple the commute time, so I guess in that respect I have it worse off than you do. Of course, if the dogs are being insane in a non "omg we gotta out and piss" way then I always have the option of laying back down and telling them to fuck off.

I found lot of sub-300k property on Alki. That's even actually in Seattle. It's on the beach though so the Punk Rawk House will be permeated with the smell of rotting fish, or whatever that shore smell is. The smell will probably be an improvement over what the actual Punk Rawk House will smell like.
