kamiwaza, underappreciated game

kamiwaza is a game by acclaim, famous for way of the samurai and shinobido.  in the same vein this game is set right at the end of the edo era.  the premise is that you are a poor man taking care of an adopted daugter who suddenly becomes ill.  because of the expense of medicine you have to result to stealing and selling the items so that she will be able to have medicine to live.

from that point on how you play the game is up to you.  it's just like way of the samurai 1 & 2 (which i like to call GTA: Samurai) in that you can side with the townsfolk, the police, the samurai, or just yourself.  or you can try to please them all, stealing for the poor like robin hood but never getting caught by the cops and always having enough money for medicine.

stealing is lots of fun and there is a lot of neat ways to do it including the "ninja feet" method where to tap someone and then come around the other side of them and steal all thier stuff.  depending on how many time you tap and come around the value of what you steal is doubled, tripled, quadrupled, etc.

i haven't finished the storyline yet but i've been have fun just running around the various areas of town, using disquises, and stealing stuff.

it's too bad this never came out in english.  it's also too bad i took so long to play it.

check gamefaqs.  there isn't any info on it, no review, no faq, and not a single post on the boards.  how sad.

I actually imported this game, but I don't have a way to play it since my fat PS2 got busted.  I have no doubt that it will be amazing since Acquire (NOT ACCLAIM!) made it.  Every game they worked on has been amazing.
