He conjured up this idea when he saw his daughter listening to music, shacking a stick...but disappointed she wouldn't do this with his palpitating semierect member. he takes out his incestuous frustrations by making bad games

fixed, as the neogaf is wont to say

miyamoto looked unhappy while playing the pretendypoo saxophone. this is a small consolation. he's approaching the point the simpsons reached some years back, when their bad stuff depressingly began to outweigh their old, brilliant stuff

Way to miss the boat, guys.

It's not that they're killing gaming, it's that they're fully capable of producing high quality games that I would like to play, but instead sink their resources into this nongaming crap.  Sure it's profitable for them, but so what?  As a "hardcore" (for lack of a better term) gaming consumer I would like to have as many options for gameplay as possible.  Nintendo seems focused on ignoring my desires so that old people, women and autistic children will buy truckloads of their shit.  The thing is, I highly doubt that these demographics are going to KEEP buying their shit.  Most of them just want to play Wii Sports and the sequel.  It's just unfortunate that Nintendo has gone this route.  It's even worse than Sega- Sega used to be able to make good games but forgot how.  Nintendo still knows how, but doesn't want to bother.  THAT'S what should piss you people off, instead you're just like "lol different market".  Sad.
i would agree with you

except

unlike you, i dont care to play quality nintendo made games anymore

especially when its competitors make so many great games i dont have the time/money to play

so why do you want to play hypothetical quality nintendo games? when you can play existing quality non nintendo games

Because Nintendo makes (made) specific games that I like?

I love classic Zelda. But Nintendo is only going to make gimmickfest Zelda's like PH from now on. That saddens me.

I love 2D Metroid. But Nintendo is only going to make pinball, Quake clones, and first person "adventures" from now on. That saddens me.

Nintendo used to make really great gaming experiences (more often) that didn't have third party equals. Okami is good, but it's still not ZELDA. I'm not saying it's as good or worse than Zelda... I'm just saying it's not ZELDA. Castlevania is great... but it's not METROID.

Now Nintendo is too focused on making nongames for middle aged people, and making quality games in their established franchises has either become 2nd priority or eternally tainted by gimmicks with future installments.

Not so fast my frined. Eventually, some of these non-gamers are going to venture out into real games and find that they quite like them. Plus, there will always be a market for core games, and I don't think Nintendo will ever completely ignore it.

Q&A time. In WIld World, if one player left a town, everyone was disconnected. This time around there's the same system, and so the same problem. But this time around you can do more stuff together, like take in a show and such.

Sony, THAT is how you do a trailer when you have no gameplay to show! Don't show us bullshit CG, show us exploding logos and guns shooting your logos while rock music and people in gas masks and DUKE NUKEM fly across the screen.

Jesus Christ, DUKE NUKEM IS BACK.

Oh wait no, this is just some shit port. Fucking 3D Realms, where is DNF, Prey 2 and that other game?

You'd have to be a fucking moron to show CG for a port of old games.

What? This isn't a port. These are "three" new games. (Read: it's one game, but with three different settings, so they're calling it a "trilogy") And it's being developed by a spinoff group using the old Apogee name, not 3D Realms.

Miyamoto: yeah it's a toy, toys are more interesting than games too. FOCKA ZERUDA.

Miyamoto, what's gotten into you?  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Thing is, Nintendo could make some really incredible games with the hoards of money they have laying around. But they decide to make waves of nongames that take no profit to make, and they hoard their money instead.  :'( :'( :'( :'(

What the fuck. What the fucking fuck. So basically it'll probably be Duke 3D just diffrent stories and settings?

I FILE THIS UNDER "ENHANCED RE-PORT-MAKE"

http://ds.ign.com/articles/890/890668p1.html

Quote
"Well, no, not exactly," said Nagy. "We're doing something called multi-mode. So we're taking all the great sequences of different types of gaming. You know, first-person and third-person over-the-shoulder, and no Duke game is Duke without a jetpack, so there's going to be a top-down scroller action going on there. We're talking about some isometrics, isometric 3D and on the DS there'll be the side-scroller action as well."

Can you explain that bit more?

"On the DS you'll be playing along in side-scroller mode and then there'll be an option to go into like a cover-fire position. And so Duke'll be able to play in a cover-fire position and then Duke will have the option to walk down that alleyway and go into a third-person over-the-shoulder type mode. And then you play the game in that mode for a while."

Do you choose to switch modes or is it directed?

"Right now it's directed."

How different are the PSP and DS versions?

"The PSP, more mature, more hardcore of gamer, third-person, first-person, top-down scroller type of stuff. It'll have less play modes than the DS, I just can't see a side-scroller working on the PSP."

Each of the three games takes place during different time periods, each of which means different kinds of weaponry will be available.

"In the first game Critical Mass, Duke is in the future so there's going to be some really cool futuristic weapons that Duke gets and is going to be able to kick ass with. Chain Reaction takes place in current day Earth and it's going to have the weapons that we create for it will be really cool and futuristic type things. The one that I'm excited about is Proving Grounds, it takes place back in 1945, Duke is going to become the Forrest Gump of World War II. Duke is going to be responsible for the sinking of the Bismarck. It was really Duke that raised the flag over Iwo Jima. He's going to be using period style weapons within this game."

I lol'd, that's for sure.

For some ungodly reason, I sat through the blog of that conference, then a GAF member of all people delivers by asking the question. God knows that if he didn't ask it millions of starved Nintendo fans would never have found out about it.

I love how the Wiitards are acting like this singlehandedly redeemed Nintendo's E3. Are those fuckers really that starved?

It's Pikmin. On the Wii. And we already knew about it.

Where's a new 2D Metroid on the DS? Where's... say, a portable Virtual Console service?

Hell, where's the localization for Soma Bringer or Glory of Hercules? Where's the elusive Mother Trilogy for the DS, localized for American audiences?

Ugh.

The reaction to this is hilarious.

BP3: "WAH! WAH! NINTENDO HATES US!"
AP3: "OMG! YOU GUYS CARE! YOU WIN E3! FTW!"

They said already said most of this shit at the conference.  I mean, they didn't come out and say Pikman 3 was coming out, but now we have a confirmation of it.  We also have a confirmation that both the team behind Galaxy and Twilight Princess are making new games.  How about getting excited for that? They didn't even say they were working on a new Mario or Zelda.  They can actually be working on a new IP! Get excited about that instead of Pikman 3, which you assholes will probably bitch about regardless of quality anyway.

I am excited for Pikman 3.  I really enjoyed the first two and the pointer on the wii remote seems like it could have some benefit here.

Good point. On one hand how can some of these dumbasses say "OMG, Nintendo won't release a new game ever again" then say "Duh we knew Pikman was coming." It's obvious about 90% of their development is still focused on the "Non Wii-Fit/Sports/Music" games, people just want to flame.

Did you see the stage demo they had on livewire? It was hilarious.  It was Bozon trying to explain why this game was so awesome for the developer sitting there.

I have lightened on up the game.  Watching the videos on IGN and second Gametrailers video, I think this could be pretty interesting.  I don't see how people keep saying "this looks like a 360 game!".  It looks good for a Wii game.  Xbox games still have better graphics than this.
