Infamous stage demo of car-blasting and defibrillation

Already posted this in the Saggle thread, but it's bloody awesome enough for more exposure.

The atmosphere is pretty amazing.

Huh? Not sure what you're referring to. Not that it matters, the game looks fuck awesome. Movement (specifically the climbing and spot-landing) seems heavily inspired by Sly, which is a great thing. And as said, the atmosphere is spot on.

The nighttime setting was going to go make or break it for me, in terms of visual presentation. It pulled it off quite well, made for a very moody setting.

enemy with powers looked rad.  i liked how he tore up the street.  they also hinted at multiplayer.  definitely looking forward to this.

The city seems to have a lot of, uh, personality. At least that area, felt very lived-in, with lots of history. If this is indicative of the majority of the city (which I honestly can't see it being), then that's just awesome. Designed, as opposed to engineered.

i think the city looks alright.  i was surprised the guy didn't talk up how the two factions were having a gunfight while he was on the side of the building getting ready to throw lightning.  seems to be different alliances you can make in the game.

but man, co-op would be perfect for this game.  hope that's one of the things they just aren't talking about yet.  could let other players control those elite mobs like the one tearing up the street -- or just cole copies.  would be fun either way.

I don't think you can align with the bad guys, if that's what you mean. They made pretty clear that is a hero story, meaning that there is a defined bad bunch that needs to be dealt with. The choice is in how you deal with that task; by being the good guy hero, or the hero that leaves a lot of collateral damage in his wake.

Shit, my earlier feed had stopped before getting to the powered up teleporting enemy. That was pretty damned cool.

Infamous looks way more coherent and designed than that other superhero sandbox game coming out (which still sounds like a tech demo). It actually looks to have interesting platforming too (instead of just vertically running on buildings). When he started combining the platforming with cover and using his electricity it clicked with me. Runs smooth as butter too. Very impressed.

This game looks like fun. It looks like Ass Creed + BioShock + Crackdown.

I am really looking forward to this game.  I want more stage demos, but everyone only wants to see the same damn Fallout 3 preview over and over.

AA/dfyb circle jerk aside, this game looks excellent.  I'm really looking forward to it, certainly more than any other announced PS3 exclusive.

Prototype? I'm definitely looking forward to that one too, but that's just plain destruction appeal. The environments go along with that, in that they seem to be there almost squarely to serve as launchpads for mayhem. Nothing wrong with that, but this is certainly more intriguing and atmospheric. So moody.

This looks great.  I think it'll be the game that finally knocks Crackdown off its throne of king of next-gen sandbox games.  The production values are through the roof.  I also like how they're putting emphasis on the story.  Most sandbox games have awful narrative.  Crackdown doesn't even have a plot... although that might've been one of its appealing traits.

The lack of plot in Crackdown didn't irk me half as much as the lack of interesting enemies, and the lack of mission variety. I've argued that, in some ways, Crackdown is actually a step down from a game like Hulk UD, and that's the reason. No bosses, no enemies with cool (agent-like) abilities, just clones of basic thugs, with more or less health and powerful weapons. And the way you deal with any situation is to jump, kick and shoot your way to the target, and eliminate the target. That's why it's hard to blindly recommend that game, despite it being generally fun.

Yeah but trying to get all the orbs was sooooooo fun, especially because it rewarded you by improving your abilities.  Assassin's Creed had a similar thing with their flags but they did nothing... they were just there to collect.  The orbs / platforming side game is what made Crackdown so special.

Only bad thing is the bad run/walk animation.  I don't think they are used to how humans move in games.

i like the run animation but it's the idle animation bothering me.  thus, it also has an awkward transition from running to idle.  but the running itself looks cool.

He runs like he is holding a barrel between his legs.  It just looks a bit awkward.

Yeah, this was really annoying me in the video.  He kept running five steps, then stopping and standing up a bit, then running five steps.  It was awkward indeed.
The animation looks really good for the most part...
The barrel thing is somewhat true also, unless he's trying to look scary or evil or something.

He's running a bit like that evil guy from Lazy Town, Robbie Rotten

Wow, both of those interviews were painfully awkward. Game looks excellent, though. I wonder why such a relatively heavy media blitz for a game that's at least a year away.

So, uh, has anyone come across a HD/High quality version of the trailer from the conference? I thought for sure it'd be up on PSN, but there's nothing.
