I was always leery about this game, not sure how it would come out. After seeing these two vids, my gaming boner is raging full on. Oh my. Serves me right for not having blind faith in one of the best devs of the last 10 years.

Large foot soldier skirmish, crazy air strikes, and at the 1:00 mark, ZOMG!, watch a mobile base get flown in and constructed:

I will probably pick this up, but as someone who has access to a good PC and a plethora of good RTS games, I really don't know if one on the console using the Halo setting is that anything for me to get excited about.

RTS on the PC is my favorite genre... but good games are good games no matter where they are. Hard to be an RTS player and look at those videos and think this won't be a blast.

There's an interesting set of design decisions that Ensemble has made with this game that really just *might* make the controls somewhat tolerable from what I was hearing from a somewhat I trust nearly implicitly on such matters.

Stuff like limited number of units and using on-screen and global unit selection as primary selection methods instead of usual box-painting is a definite step in the right direction.

Still far from sold on the game, but I'm certianly a bit more optmistic about it than I was a few months ago.

Halo Wars isn't really targeted at the PC RTS crowd, they're trying to make an RTS for Halo fans and console gamers.
