Do distinguished mentally-challenged people know they're distinguished mentally-challenged?

I was thinking about this and it made me wonder.  I mean, how horrible would it be knowing that you're distinguished mentally-challenged?  I think I'd be alright if I thought everything was dandy and it was like I was on one big acid trip.  I'd just like to know.

BTW, don't bother asking Catalyst.  He wouldn't give me a straight answer as to whether or not he knew he was different from us.

I know a guy who's mildly distinguished mentally-challenged.  He knows this.  Doesn't really show though other then the fact that he wants to be an actor.
