This game looks amazing. I only learned about it since the xbox live japan videos a few weeks ago went up. It is probably the first RPG I have been excited to play since Persona 3.

It does look really cool, but I'm still concerned over the rather poor framerate seen in most gameplay videos. The PS2 games Tri-Ace delivered all offered 60 fps gameplay while this can't even hold 30 (yet). Hopefully they solve that issue in the final.

i didn't think any game today would have the balls to once again open with the character in a jail cell. i haven't seen a whole lot else from this game, but so far it seems like it's shooting for 'most generic RPG storyline' ever.

edit: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35817.html video i was referring to. and if you look at my record, i'm not much of a jrpg person to begin with (srpg's are an exception). i just thought it was weird when the first gameplay footage they show has one of the most unoriginal setting/premise imaginable in an RPG. gameplay looks alright but i haven't really read up on the combat system. based on the vids, it looks similar to FFXII with a focus on combos, which isn't a bad thing.

In all seriousness though, this game is more of an action RPG (you input commands to do special moves and attacks). The only similarity to FFXII is that the battles are open map so you dont' have to go to an encounter area.

but hopefully this will be more along the lines of Blue Dragon and just involves getting one of everything (as opposed to missing osme fucking BS potion at the start of the game, which Is what I think happened with me for Treasure Trove...
