In fairness, the controls are very good when you're playing lucky hit, or asking people to play lucky hit. Which is what I spent most of my time doing.

Shenmue 2 was actually the first game I bought for my Xbox. It came free with Sega GT and JSRF, but those I didn't really pay for. Still, it was amazing that my first experiences with the Xbox felt like I was playing the Dreamcast 2.

Japanese voice acting which really adds to the experience, sharper colors, lack of bloom lighting, lack of blur in the middle of fights, actually somehow LOOKS better in some ways. The only thing the xbox version has over the dc version is the better loading and slightly better textures on Ryo's jacket and on the water.

I coculdn't get past the Lucky Hit part in Shenmue 2 and I could never find the fucking sailors in Shenmue 1. I sucked at those games. I never got to fight or do any QTE's.

Methodis: Lucky Hit isn't even required in Shenmue 2. It's a side game. It's one of the multiple ways to get cash in the game. Me, I don't play Lucky Hit because it sucks. I either gamble to get 100 thousand clams in like 15 minutes (enough to last you the entire game btw), or street fight for money.

Yeah. That's true. But I still prefer the dc version.

If they hadn't added shitty bloom lighting or anything to the xbox version and put the Japanese dialogue track on there it'd be the definitive version.

I think Himuro is wrong here, the english VA is sooo much better. The xbox version is fully voice acted (jap is subtitled only for a lot of dialogue) and the guy that plays Ryo is fucking awesome. Love that voice

Unless you don't understand the English language, the ones with English voice acting are the ways to play this game.

I like really slow games, games where you walk a lot and look around, and I can usually deal with monotonous gameplay tasks. But I didn't like Shenmue 2. It seems to be totally hit and miss whether you will like it.

I love Xiuying's English voice, I'll give you that. Ren's English voice is kinda wtf for me, it's totally Gui Zhang and the actor doesn't hide that fact.
