At that time, the XNA Community test bed will become Xbox Live Community Games, a sister storefront to Xbox Live Arcade where Xbox 360 gamers can browse, test and purchase user-created games from their consoles. Once that happens, game makers will have the option of charging 200, 400 or 800 MS pts. ($2.50, $5 or $10) for their creations on the Xbox Live Community Games storefront. Those prices will largely be dictated by the games' size – 200 pts. for 50 MB games and 400-800 pts. for 150 MB games. At launch, none of the games will be free, although that could change later, says Chris Satchell, newly-appointed Chief Technology Officer for Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business group, which includes the Xbox 360.
-$2.50, $5 and $10 price points for XNA games
-price "largely dictated" by the file size - ie, a 150MB game cannot be 200pts, but a 50MB game can be any pricepoint.
-no game will be free at launch

Anyway, pretty cool. Too many games are 800 pts these days. But when the fuck is this coming out?

I hope other people made some good games.  I remember during the beta, or whatever that was, only Dishwasher was worth a damn.

I also don't see this being the "youtube for games" considering this stuff has been on PC for years, both free and for a fee, so I don't get why it being on console and forcing you to pay is so different.

Re-reading the FAQ I think I understand where the confusion lies. If a developer has a game that is 17MB then they can sell it at the 200, 400 or 800 MB price point. The limit on the 200 price point is 50MB and 150MB for the other two. The padding to boost the size and price is a complete non-issue as it serves no purpose

That made no sense whatsoever.  Unless it is in fact the other way around, and you have to charge more for larger games.
the clarification made sense to me.  it's a system to cover bandwidth costs.

large games cannot be priced lower because it would cut into profit margin.  small games can be priced whatever.

XNA back down to having no good games until proven wrong.  Dishwasher is pretty awesome and hopefully it is out soon on XBLA.
