Whatever happened to Blu-rays having PSP videos?
« on: July 23, 2008, 02:45:54 AM »
I bought The Bank Job on Blu-ray today and it actually has a digital copy of the film which can be copied to your PC or portable media player.

Too bad I couldn't try it out since I don't have a Blu-ray drive for my pc.  Didn't Sony promise something like this for the PSP awhile ago?

It'd be really cool to have PSP compatible videos of all my Blu-rays.

I think you remote play blu-ray movies onto your PSP.

I don't think that works unless the firmware has added that capability recently.  A few months ago, it wasn't even possible to remote play DVDs.

Besides, I remember them promising what I'm talking about in the OP.

Remember those live demos of people 'throwing' videos from their tv to their PSP, seamlessly?

Uh, all the Blu-ray's I've gotten with digital copies have had separate DVDs in the case along with a code that unlocks the movie off iTunes.

You don't need a Blu-ray drive...  ???

You're right.  I just checked and Disc 2 is a DVD.

That's weird.  I thought it was a Blu-ray feature because it has so much capacity.

Do new DVDS have digital copies as well?  It's been a long time since I bought a DVD.

Some. I know FOX started doing it for most of their releases.
