What's even funnier is that, and it's been awhile so my memory may be faulty (again!), but the developer for Bubsy 3D went on immediately to do Syphon Filter, which did not suck. So you can see where their effort was focused.

It took a bit of digging, but you're right. They did Bubsy 3D in 1996 and their next game came out 3 years later and was called Syphon Filter.
