nonsense

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the greatest game ever.  Look it up.

Besides, if you played one schmup, you played them all, right?

shit i guess you're right

actually you're abominably wrong.  any five minutes of truxton 2 contain more design genius than miyamoto's entire gameography -- for example the way it starts playing a new song when the first boss shows up and then keeps playing that song through the first section of level 2. if 'level 2' is even the right name for that varicolored multipart virtuoso exhibition of total creative mastery

some irrelevant americans. its correct name translates to something like EXPERT KING -- which is perfectly accurate. who calls a game 'zelda'

miyamoto had never heard of scott fitzgerald. and has probably never read a book. he probably got the name 'zelda' from a pornographic videotape in which a horsey blond is repulsively caressed by a japanese man somewhat resembling himself

nah i'm pretty sure he said that he got the name from fitzgerald's wacko wife, except he probably didn't know that she was crazy because the japanese are the only people who can pervert american culture more than americans themselves

or like most japanese men he considers the mind to be the least important feature in a woman

Dunno if you're serious, but..

Quote
The name of the princess was inspired by Zelda Fitzgerald: "Zelda was the name of the wife of the famous novelist Francis Scott Fitzgerald. She was a famous and beautiful woman from all accounts, and I liked the sound of her name. So I took the liberty of using her name for the very first Zelda title," Miyamoto explained

the island nation of japan served its historical purpose when it produced the radiant godmen responsible for truxton 2, and if it still exists, which it may or may not, it exists only as an outsize monument to the numinous creative act which took place upon its otherwise infertile shores in the year of our lord 1992 amen

My dentist had a Genesis in his waiting room and a copy of Truxton there... all I remember about it was screen-filling skull-shaped bombs. Didn't know there was a sequel. Isn't Toaplan responsible for the Truxton games?

the genesis version of truxton IS NOT TRUXTON

it's weird in that it reproduces the game pretty faithfully, but removes practically all the bullets. even in 'hard' mode
