Well, it's a better deal than paying $50 for the disc.  I wish that I had that option since I was going to try AOC for 1 month anyway.

So I can't torrent the game then use the buddy key? I'd still need another, separate key?

no i think that was confusion on SG's part.  You could probably "import" it, then use this key.  Because it's all in the account permissions like any other MMORPG
