Somehow, the past repeats itself: Star Ocean II

I just started replaying this game on the PS3 (backwards compat, woot) and I get through the whole fucking "LETS EXPLORE THE TOWN AND GO TO EVERY PERSON AND TALK TO THEM" segment, YAY. I finally get out of that forsaken little shithole and start grinding (natural tendency). What do I do? I forgo saving for grinding, what happens? I die and the last time I saved was BEFORE the "LETS EXPLORE THE TOWN AND GO TO EVERY PERSON AND TALK TO THEM" segment. FUCK

The worst thing is that 1) I've done this before and 2) I've done this the first time I played the game which was before #1. So that's THREE FUCKING TIMES I've done this. GOD :( :(

unfathomable! the battle system is godawful, the characters and plot are hateful, and the smithing/skill system defines tedious work for marginal gains. really, though, it's the ugly and uncontrollable battle system that makes me loathe it the most.

I actually like everything you dislike  :'(

But this is pretty much me kicking off a PSX round of games. After this I'll probably play Wild Arms and not too sure afterward

I wish I had Legend of Legaia... maybe I do  :o All this is just to tide me over until Infinite Undiscovery though

Playing SO2 made me physically ill.  I bet I could enjoy it under different circumstances though.

I love how this game allows you to get to lv100 within the second area of the game (which is like 2 hours in). Reproducing Forged Medals = :drool

The Item Creation system in this game is pretty fucking tedious but once you develop talents, the probability to successfully create shit becomes much higher.
