This thread has made it impossible for me to troll the Mummy without getting embroiled in the larger TDK warz.

Mummy 3 trolls itself by losing #1 spot at the BO to a movie in its third week.

Whatever, I could never face off against the TDK Illuminati with rational thoughts that aren't sucking off the penis of a cartoon character.

Who is the lowest functioning autistic poster?

Methodis, Wolf Gang, Pharmacy, or laeapsppssppaznz?

Whatever, I could never face off against the TDK Illuminati with rational thoughts that aren't sucking off the penis of a cartoon character.

Does that answer your question?

Forum trolls itself by arguing BO numbers of big summer films. :'(

What else is there to argue about them? Artistic merit?

Serenity wasn't bad.  :(

And yet it still bombed hard.  :'(

At least we can seek comfort in the fact that another terrible Eddie Murphy movie tanked even harder on a bigger budget.

Who the hell greenlights those... things?

The Adventures of Pluto Nash cost $100 million to make. It made $7 million worldwide.
Meet Dave cost $55 million to make. It's made $10 million.

Just think of all the good that could've been done with that money. Feeding the poor, funding AIDS research, providing people with affordable housing? Nope! Let's make another shitty Eddie Murphy "family" comedy that no one will want to watch!

The real question is what brain trust had the idea "Hey, let's make a Sci-Fi comedy with Eddie Murphy! That's never been tried before!"

The real question is what brain trust had the idea "Hey, let's make a Sci-Fi comedy with Eddie Murphy! That's never been tried before!"

20th Century Fox distribution executive Bert Livingston said of the box office bomb that cost $55 million to make, "It was a tough concept to get across. It's upsetting for all of us and for Eddie. He's very funny in this. Just not enough people came."

Apparently we're not cool enough to "get it."

I saw Mummy 3 with friends, and we all thought it was a really funny action movie. It was a easy going experience.

I saw Dark Knight too, 2 times, it was much better the 1st time around, because you believe Joker will pull it off, and let's face it, nobody gives a fuck about Batman in Dark Knight, it was the joker show with a bit of two face on the side. Heath Ledger deserves the oscar. And i never liked the joker before.

And somebody teach Nolan how to direct action, i mean the chase sequence was boring as shit.

The final part sure, when the truck gets turned over. Before that, boring and unexciting. There was no speed, it was like things were happening in a really slow and casual way.

Pretty crappy action directing. And whats up with Batman's fighting? Only involves waist up, the moves always look the same, some weird punches with the characters waiting to be hit, pretty crappy fighting choreo.

I DO agree that Nolan's chase scenes for whatever reason lack any sense of speed. The same was true of the chase in BB - the cars feel like they're going about 40mph tops.

I thought the chase sequence was amazing, but I do agree that they did lack a sense of speed.  I don't think there is anything really wrong with that.  I mean, both with the Batpod and the Tumbler, it showed them using shortcuts most of the time, so it almost made sense in a way.

No, because I knew that before I wrote that post.

Maybe it was because I put character in there to explain to people who don't watch the show that Tracy Jordan is a character in the show.

I hated Scarface and hated Al Pacino's character.

I hated Scarface and hated Tony Montana's character.

Which makes more sense.

You were obviously referring to the actor.

No I wasn't. Maybe it's just a different way of talking up here in Venezuala, but we always say character when talking about a character.

For the record, I was laughing because he called Tracy Morgan 'Tracy Jordan.'  Of course, when I did that, I had no idea that Tracy Jordan was the name of the character, so when I googled it after his response I felt appropriately stupid.
