uncunting believable

so i wake up and go outside and see that my car isn't there.  they've recently started towing if you don't have a sticker displayed.  i have a sticker.  i'm very fucking exacting about my car because i don't want shit like this to happen.

so i call the towing company and they tell me that "that's not the right sticker for that car" which is ridiculous because it's the same car I've had for the past 7 years and it's the same car that's been in that exact spot for a year and a half.

so now i have to wait for the rental office to open so i can get them to call the towing company and i guess tell them it's an error in their records so i can get my car back for free because fuck if i'm paying for a goddamn tow.

They will probably still try to charge you a storage fee or some bullshit lol. I don't get it though; do they actually have people drive around in the middle of the night and inspect cars to make sure they have these stickers on them?

that's some bullshit. i have a friend who lives on campus; she parks her car in the campus parking lot from around 9AM-10PM and then moves it to the dorm parking lot for the rest of the night. There are a lot of towing people on campus and they constantly harass people. Last semester they towed her car from the dorm parking lot around 3AM on a saturday, causing her to be late for work by 2 hours (and lose her fucking job), and when she brought the $170 fine money one of the workers told her to bring $200 and "stop acting like a bitch." I went up there with her brother and we got the car back for the $170 price without incident, but they've kept fucking with her and other chicks at the dorms. She thinks they broke into her car but we can't do anything since there's no clear evidence

jeez

Your leasing office is not going to take responsibility for failure to provide you with the proper sticker?

What was their explanation?

they stated that i had changed the registration on my car which invalidated that sticker.

i told them i called in january (when the car was re-registered) and specifically asked if i need to do anything and i was told that the sticker was good for the car.

when i asked them about that, they asked me who i spoke with but as this was like 6 months ago i had no idea.

Wow dood I would fucking move.

Did your plate number change?

WTF?

What they are saying doesn't even make sense unless the tow company has a list of sticker ID's that are tied to plate numbers.

Just reading this is getting me so pissed off I gotta go for a walk.

I went to the zoo last week wednesday with my sister and little cousins. She parked at the end of a block across the street from the zoo and the very first thing that she did when we came out of the car was look for a no parking sign. There wasn't any. When we left the zoo the car was gone. Motherfuckers towed it for being in no parking zone (wtf). She had to pay $180 to get it back and there was also a $115 ticket on her car.

I don't know where the OP lives, but New York traffic cops are the fucking worse.
