Yes, my daily The Shield thread.

Vic's wife:  She's a total hypocritical whore that knows Vic is up to no good, but she has no problem keeping the house that he probably purchased via the proceeds or murdering minorities.  Also has a tendency to be a bona fide bitch.

Shane's girlfriend/wife:  Is a cock to Vic for no reason.  Steals money. Just a general bitch.

Acevada's wife:  Gets upset when Acevada reveals he was forced to suck cock at gunpoint and repeatedly asks why Acevada didn't stop them, as if he WANTED to suck off toothless gang members.

Claudette:  Nuff said.

Danny:  Hired back to be a snitch.  The closest thing the show has to a non-terrible female, aside from Vic Mackey's distinguished mentally-challenged children.

Yeah, Vic's wife is annoying as hell. Shane's broad is a good fit for him, so hey.

Shield spoilers, past season 5

Yeah, I had a hard time giving a shit about this show after Lem was offed. Every show needs some reasonably decent and likable character, so now the show feels almost too cynical and negative.

On the contrary, I felt that the (spoilered event) was perfect.  Not every show has to be puppies and sunshine.  The Strike Team, with as much dirty dealings as it does, will be an environment of cynicism and negativity.

TVC is right.  That is the beauty of the show: there is nobody that is entirely good.  Except for Glenn Close's character but they tried to shoehorn in some half assed dirt:

Vic's wife is the kind of wife that would marry a bad boy like Vic and then act aghast when he has his hands in some shit.  She knew how he was all along and she was fine with it until she has to face a shred of consequences.  Then she has mental breakdowns and either flees the area (Season 1-2), fucks his enemy (Season 4), or is just useless in general.

I understand why Vic fucks around.  If I had a child-wife for a spouse who is unable to handle any actual problems, I'd be dipping my wick in every chick possible.

Man, I just want to shove Vic's wife's arm in a fucking garbage disposal.  She is such a huge, hypocritical bitch.

I forgot, there's also that Tina cop (that's her name, right?) that shows up later on.  Her defining traits are that she's cute, but completely incompetent and has sailed along life on her good looks.

in the episode Co-pilot they had the house before he went bad.

Claudette:  Nuff said.

She's probably my favorite character on the show.  She's the only one who's well grounded, I feel.

Why not Glen Close's character?

I'd put Tina in the same category as Lauren the dog trainer (Vic fucked her in Season 3), Emma the woman who ran the shelter (Vic fucked her in Season 2), the lawyer who was responsible for Lem; basically just female side characters to be fucked and dumped whenever there might be a plot hole that needs some filling.

I agree about Vic's wife.  I remember when she proposed that Vic quit his higher paying job so she can work her part time nursing shift.  Vic suggested that someone needed to make enough money to pay the bills and she had a fit about it.  Then she fucked his autistic son's tutor.

Speaking of which, I didn't know autism was a degenerative condition but The Shield has proven that wrong.  He was function at first but is slowly getting worse.  I'm guessing it degenerates like this:

Fully functional > Writing on walls > Can no longer read > Biting sister  > Jotaro

Why not Glen Close's character?

Yeah, Glen Close is probably in the "good" category, but look, she gets punished for it!
