I dunno, I can't really think of anything interesting to write about, then again, stupidest shit has been written around a good riff or whatever.

I think I might just have to be a accompanist :(

You don't have to write something super deep to start off with. Just make up a few lines of anything, then try putting it to a tune you pick out. Have fun with it instead of trying to be serious at first.

For most people, assing about until you find something you like is a major part of writing songs.  Other things that will help you write a song:

1) Getting a basic knowledge of keys (which isn't as hard as you'd think).

2) Having tools that suit you and help you compose such as a guitar/ keyboard/ sequencer/ computer/ pen and paper.

To start with just come up with three or four chords that you like an sing a melody over them.  Then make sure you write it down. On bass it might be a little harder but you can certainly come up with pairs of notes that you like for example rather than chords.

Yeah, I've written a fair share. I seem to go in waves with it. Months of nothing, then ideas coming out of my ass.

Lately it's more a matter of me setting up my gear and actually recording any of it. I'm getting lazy in my old age. I also need to go back and re-record a bunch of lyrics, due to me having strepped throat at recording time.

Again, it goes both ways for me. Sometimes the riff comes first, sometimes the vocal line.

You mentioned that funk riff you had, why not work on that? I know it may not be your style, but that might make it all the easier for you to put lyrics to, because you won't have to be concerned with it being "perfect".

Well thats the thing, since i'm not familiar with the style I don't know how to put lyrics to it.

I get these like rare occasions where I hit something pleasent sounding and original on the bass, but then I don't know how to add onto it or anything :(

Experiment. Just because it's a funk riff doesn't mean it has to be a funk song.

If it's going to be the Evilbore theme song, something preferably heavy. But, this is just for fun, so do whatever you're feeling.

We are not ready to do any Evilbore theme or cd. There are a couple of beginners here, I still need to advance a lot.

Let's do this nexr year.

I just figured it would be for fun, regardless of how it turned out. But if you want to wait a bit, I'm cool with that too.

I think we should just work on it for a year. Like start now and wait until we get an awesome piece.

What do you guys reccomend for recording equipment for a PC?
