Lightning or whatever seems like a more unique character to me -- better suited for main character status.  she's a girl, but she's still touch without being a tomboy or a sex object.  that's rare in games.  it's the kind of character my female friends always wish for in a game.

wait, so people don't like the main female character? this is all so strange to me.  Anything is a step up from Vaan, Tidus, or Yuna.  What greedy bastards these people are.  She actually looks more interesting than this "nomchan" fanwank chick.  It isn't like less of her means your fanfic/art is going to be any more creepy than it already is.  And the guy looks cool.  In general, if you wear a bandanna like that, it just makes you more of a bad ass.  See Ren from Shenmue 2.

i'm not saying that is real time. I'm saying it's fmv and the shots above it (in the recent Versus scans) are real time. There is a big difference in quality in these three images. One of which is obviously much much more detailed and OBVIOUSLY fmv. The shadows in the Versus pics in the scan, even if they're small as hell, are not NEARLY as detailed as the ones on the dude with the shotgun, and that real time picture takes place in a room that's dark as shit!

these FFXIII characters kick ass in comparison.  ff8 characters were good, too.  amir0x can roll his fat ass off of his chair and suffocate from a collapsed trachea for being too stupid and fat--gunblades are cool for being fictional video game weapons.

I don't think the semantic distinction is important unless you ultimately care that the facial designs are similar.

I don't see any problem with making her look like Cloud, even if that's Cloud AC. I am a little confused here...Cloud's AC design had to have been designed and maybe even in actual use way before we ever saw Lightning. I don't think his facial structure is that different in AC overall.

owned by what?  i mentioned TWICE that i'd already seen the face comparison pics/gifs that i assume you're saying i was 'owned' by.  i mentioned their clothing style was different and that they have different character designs despite them having near identical face structures (due to FF art style), which is all quite true.

yeah, i think that was an accurate claim.  FF characters can almost always be gender benders without changing the face.  only exceptions are characters like barret, who don't have the 'beautiful' stereotype to them.  it's just the art style--like some anime.
