I don't remember what my myspace is, but my friend made it for me for some reason, I changed the password, and from then on I didn't touch it.  As for Facebook, High School friends said I should make one to keep in touch.  I did.  I haven't logged in in maybe 2+ years.  I told them I have a phone and that they could call if they needed to know about my life.  Not going to bother with Twitter.

I also recently signed up for a Giant Bomb account, but I have no clue what it is really for, so that is another thing I will neglect.

Facebook is a much nicer looking site minus the distinguished mentally-challenged fellows of myspace, but it is somehow void of any real communication, which you think any networking site would have.  It's just people adding applications and then spamming those applications around. For all it's whores and html errors, Myspace actually has occasional communication. I still prefer LJ, as its easy to skin and is the best way for keeping up with friends lives when you don't see them often.

I don't like the new facebook layout. I used to get annoyed by application requests, but I just ignore em all now. If someone *really* wants me to use a particular app, they'll message me personally to that effect.

I think facebook is a useful thing to have -- I know some people who hold opinions already expressed in this thread ie. its the lowpoint of humanity. I've gotta agree, most people only use it to fulfill some kind of voyeuristic desire to know what everyone is up to at all times, what they look like, their current status in life and so forth. But when people DO talk to each other on it, I've found it very useful. Its good for organising an event, like a birthday party / night out or whatever.

What pisses me off is how - I go out, get drunk, fall asleep happy in my little drunk world... and the next day there'll be photos of me in a club, with a sweaty drunk face, shit facial expressions as though the drink has driven my facial muscles into atrophy. Why would someone tag me in a photo like that? Do they hate me? Why can't I set a privacy feature to stop that from happening?

that.. i just can't agree with. with status updates that can be changed on the fly, posted notes, wall posts, private messages, comments on posts, photo comments, etc. there's a myriad of options for communication. plus, if any of your friends are online at the same time as you, there's a chat feature built in.
