Conspiracies seem more plausible with these multinationals because they have their fingers in a lot of pies. So it is easier to thread together a conspiracy. That is pretty much the only reason, that and an active imagination.
Klein just states what everyone knows deep down, that we're seeing the middle class dissolve. In its place, you have the upper class, the working class, and the lower class. It is just like how it was in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Not surprising, in 20-30 years, economic issues will be at the forefront. They aren't now because too many Americans have it too well. John Edwards campaign though has got the ball rolling about bringing poverty issues to the forefront, which have been on the backburner since Nixon.
