I just fell in the damn lake.
« on: August 12, 2008, 03:49:20 PM »
This old customer of ours hit a rock, and wanted his boat pulled out of the water to be fixed. I offered to help. He jackknifes his trailer 50 times before getting it near the water, then finally gets it in, albeit crooked.

Long story short, he brings the boat up to said crooked trailer, misses the mark, I try for the save.

At least the water was warm. And this time I didn't wreck my cell phone.

I'm becoming intolerant of stubborn old people.

Your dam tour guide should have warned you about falling into the dam lake with your dam cellphone.

Thank god I live where I work. Wet underwear until 9:00 riding up my ass would have been a chore.

I just got back from getting a root canal.  It was actually kinda boring.  I daydreamed for like 50 minutes about trapping demi, applying a tourniquet, and chopping off his hand with a buzz saw.  Then I'd use a ball-pein hammer to turn the bone in his arm into dust, remove the remnants of the bone from his arm, and then have sex with the now-hollow arm flap as if it were some sort of flesh light.   I was moving on to genital mutilation, but then the root canal ended :(

It'd be great if you could post a pic or two of where you work/live so we can put these stories in a setting.

If you're sensitive about privacy please at least post a pic of some random rocks, grass, water, or teenager hiding spots if possible.

At the moment I imagine you live in a place like in Twin Peaks/Alan Wake etc...

That'd be interesting.  muckhole, if you know anyone like Tom or Father Noel in particular, I'd be interested to hear.

Here's a shot of the lake from part of the property, it's not the greatest, but it's all I have on hand at the moment.

That big cement dock is right next to where the dude was pulling his boat out, and where I took my bath.

Thanks, that's awesome.  :)

It's much how I imagined it.  You even have a pine tree - how quaint!   :heart

:lol We have many pine trees, and those of other kinds as well!

Hopefully someday I'll get rid of the customers and be able to live out my dream as the crazy old man in the woods.

I really like that pine tree in particular - it just sets the mood nicely.

I look forward to pics when you start fashioning your pants from sticks and leaves (hopefully you don't just run around naked - that'd be weird).

Night time outdoors nudity can be pretty exhilirating.  :-*

It reminds me of when some friends and I counted in the New Year by standing in a circle with a beer in our hands and our pants around our ankles in the back yard.  We were about a minute late judging by the counting going on next door but we didn't care because we weren't going to start counting until we were ready (ie, pants were down).

We threw our director in the lake once when I worked at a summer camp. She still mentions it from time to time. :)

I'd kill to live in cottage country. I get to go to my friend's cottage next week for the whole week. I'm so excited.  :hyper :hyper :hyper :hyper :hyper

It does have it's perks. I have a tough time these days when I go into Toronto, when there was once a time when I would have killed to get back there. The biggest problem is that because I work directly in it, any of the natural beauty of my immediate surroundings is pretty much lost on me, and just looks like "work". I think I'd have to go stay on another lake to really soak it in.
