In other news I spent money I don't have and got a kamado charcoal cooker. I've only ever had a propane grill before and :ohlawd everything tastes so much better. Can even do 12 hour low and slow cooks  with only a couple of handfuls of lump and wood chips for flavor.

 :leon Any links?

This is the one I got

http://www.broilkingbbq.com/grills/keg/landing.html

It's actually insulated steel and not ceramic but it holds heat just as well (better actually - bringing the temp back down if you overshoot is tricky)

Being not ceramic it's more portable although still a 2 person job. There's an optional trailer hitch mount I plan on using alot

I'd been thinking of doing a 55 gallon drum conversion but a friend at work won a Big Green Egg and I've been mad with envy ever since. Found a decentish deal on this on craigslist

Green salad basically has the nutritious value of a piece of wet paper, so nothing wrong about that. Not liking salad as a preparation method per se is kinda weird though. Cut your favorite indegriedents, toss em together, what's not to like? All kinds of Vegetables, more interesting green salad like rocket or young spinach leafs, onions, chicken, beef, tuna, beans, mozarella, feta, some fruit, rice, noodles, olive oil, balsamico... impossible to fuck up. If you only eat iceberg lettuce with a bland oil it's obviously gonna taste like nothing.

Basically, I think no matter what the salad is, I'm not going to like it. Assuming there's something watery and crunchy in it, like lettuce or chopped bell pepper, and tossed with something that makes it even more wet, like some kind of oil or vinegar.
you're kind of a terrible person :(

I bet I could make a salad that would keep you hard for days.

It's great with and without cream. I can't wait to cook breakfast with a friend, in fact I'm going to do it next weekend. I'd imagine she'll be :mindblown when I pull out a pot instead of a frying pan.

Don't the wrappers have measuring units on them so you can cut what you need? I'm pretty sure butter companies do that so you can cut then unwrap.

Recipes here measure butter in tablespoons and cups so that is the unit of measurement on the sticks.

Wet scrambled eggs :noah

Dry fluffy scrambled eggs :goty2

James Beard has a recipe that takes a half hour
Dry, fluffy eggs are the USA standard. Japan has all the goddamned runny eggs you can want in any given hotel's buffet. They're horrible. You want something that looks like it's been sneezed out? Be my guest.

I tried the Ramsay eggs but decided not to add sour cream to keep it from being too wet. Still had a creamier texture than normal but still fluffy and went well with the hot dogs I threw in.

I've never had butter go bad and I don't think the packaging protects it from air. One time I had rancid olive oil that was in a corner of the cabinet so I think I'd realize it.

My attempt at Shashuka. Looks like somebody puked in the pan but came out okay tastewise.

Dry aged ribeye steak with selfmade Kräuterkäsespätze (german "noodles" with herbs and cheese) and salad with a sour dressing. Really happy with it, great meat and the herbs gave the Spätze a nice flavour push, made them the this way the first time.

Hope you can see something with the shitty phone cam quality.

I made chocolate chip cookies. Never made cookies in my life.

They turned out pretty awesome. Although I was expecting the flavor to be better than supermarket factory-made chocolate chip cookies, but fuck it I should be happy they turned out okay.

I'll be making another batch soon. :whoo They're really shockingly easy to make.

I've been wanting to try roasting broccoli for ages, ever since I came across this recipe but whenever I think to make it I'm always missing 1 or 2 ingredients and don't bother.

Best shit is melted olive oil/butter blend. Get a nice brush just for grilling to baste that shit.

Ghee is also good.  Dat flavor and high smoke point.

Wanted to make a chili.

Had just watched a recipe using Italian sausage (not really widely available over here, but possible to find) and cannellini beans.

Also wanted to do a chili verde, although green chiles and tomatillos are impossible to find.

Kinda did a mix between both, improvised with some oven roasted pimientos de padron, both Italian sausage and cubed pork, and in the end it came out great :rejoice

Yeah, they were a bit bigger than most cherry tomatoes, although I think that picture is deceiving as the plate/immersion appears bigger on that pic than it actually is.

The bigger problem with pancake batter that is too runny, is that it will make them flat. You want the batter a bit sludgey so the air pockets can form inside and make them fluffy.

Also, it helps to add a few pinches of sugar and cinnamon to the batter to give it some flavor.
