Rock Band Drum Pedal = POS
« on: August 14, 2008, 12:45:29 AM »
Our company Rock Band drum pedal broke during lunch today. Good grief, I am unreasonably bummed for something that should be THIS EASY to fix... why not just make it NOT CRAP to begin with?

I've had mine since launch, hasn't broke. Then again I don't hammer down on it like a gorilla trying to scare away an enemy.

Still, get some butter knives and duct tape. Create a brace for the thing

That's a great idea for how to get through the evening, but how do I fix my drum pedal?   :-*

Highly recommend you employ the duct tape + butter knife method.  It can be done on the fly, costs a total of like $3, and lasts for a good long while. It's what I've been using for months now.  It's solid and won't break and actually makes the action on the pedal a little better too.

And FWIW, they did fix this in the RB2 drum set revision.  The stock pedal now comes metal-reinforced.

I hate the drum pedal even when it does work. Thanks for adding a level of complexity above and beyond any of the other instruments!

That's true. I play guitar and my friend drums. He's had significantly less problems moving from Easy to Medium to Hard, as opposed to my klutzy fingers, which are having to re-learn everything on Hard, now that the Orange Button is involved.

This is probably why Konami is not involving the kick pedal until Hard.

I bought a wood pedal replacement online a while back when mine started showing cracks.
