You know nothing is sacred in the motion picture industry today not when there is an announcement of another cinematic horror classic getting remade by Michael Bay. Or when you hear that there is another low end direct to DVD sequel of a movie released some twenty years ago. And its not when a once genre friendly studio moves and buggers the release of one of the most anticipated films of the year based off one of the best stories from one of the greatest Masters of Horror.  It's none of those.

Nothing is sacred when one of the most bizarre, campy, throughly ridiculous movies ever conceived and made by mankind is remade. The 1975 Camp Cult Classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show is getting a redux according to the AFP. Oh yeah, you heard me...ROCKY HORROR GETS REMADE!

The original film featured Tim Curry in the ultimate camp performance, Susan Sarandon and Meat Loaf. The remake will be produced through MTV and Sky Movies and will be using the original film's screenplay. No cast or director has been attached yet. Executive Producer on the original Lou Adler will also be executive producer on the remake has this to say:

"So here we go again, with a new cast, believing that the Sky and MTV remake will add to the Rocky Horror phenomena."

Honestly, using the same bloody screenplay? I got one word for that: LAZY...besides actually remaking the film. This sounds more worthless than the remake of The Omen from 2006. We'll update you as more news comes in. No release date has been set for the movie.

No Tim Curry
No Meatloaf

The only way it be worth seeing is if they gave the role of Janet to Jenna Fischer.  The more we get to see of  that woman prancing around in her panties, the better.

The amount of Rocky Horror hate in this thread surprises me. I thought everyone loved the old one?

Well, I do, at least.

I want the Elephant Man remade by Michael Bay.  Instead of committing suicide at the end, maybe his whole fuckin' melon could explode.

Midnight Meat Train, from Clive Barker.

Lionsgate dumped it in a handful of $1 theaters, for reasons unknown.

Well, I do, at least.

It's not really the movie that bothers people for the most part, it's the obnoxious, prattling fanthings that feel compelled to go to a shitty theater and yell the lines at each other while dressed up.  It's ok when you're a teenager, but after you have to pay your own rent you shouldn't have that much spare time and/or that little taste.
