I really hope those aren't cutscenes with him jumping on that train and shit like that, or at least in-game shit from another perspective.  And fuckin' aliens again.  I thought this was going to be a lot of jungle stuff?

Oh well, at least I hope this time around the ice levels won't kill the frame rate.

I saw this recently and thought it looked worse than the original, but I'm sure it will still be a great game.  I certainly hope that they don't start using 3rd person cutscenes either as some of them looked akward in that trailer.

This was just kind of dumb I want to start where the 1st game left off, not play it over again.  :wag

If Crytek states it runs 2 times as fast as Crysis on the same machines then it's obvious they downgraded SOMETHING SOMEWHERE. Maybe it will be hard to see but you don't get a 100% performance gain without disabling/ scaling down some graphical elements.

Other than that it looks like same old, same old Crysis gameplay.

No cities = no buy.
What do you mean no cities = no buy?!  It's like half price and offers more of the great gameplay that the original provided.  You should know damn well that this isn't a full blown sequel.  It's coming out less than a year after the original for a low price from a side studio of CryTek.  This isn't Crysis 2.  It's basically a standalone expansion pack.

I'm all over it as Crysis was one of the best FPS of the last several years and I didn't get my fill in the original.

I don't see how anyone could expect something completely different in less than a year.

Again, you can see why they didn't follow up the story.  The best parts of Crysis involved the jungle based gameplay, right?  If they picked up where the original left off you'd be left with a frozen island and Matrix Machines everywhere.  It was either create a new story in a different setting (not something you'd expect from an expansion) or based it on the events of the original.  It's not as if you're going to be playing through the same maps.  It's all new maps and scenarios.

Crysis 1 was the definition of poorly optimized game though.  Even using extra high end hardware doesn't help all that much in some levels.

It only scales well up to 2xGPUS or 2 PC cores.  With an extra year of development, it's not hard to believe that they can squeeze much more out of that engine.

I don't really believe it was poorly optimized, though.  They simply chose to do EVERYTHING at an incredibly high level of precision.  Most games fake a lot of things while CryTek allowed their engine to run wild.  Every visual features present in the engine can be executed at a higher level of precision than any other engine I can think of.  All of that running together results in a demanding game.

Thus far, the Warhead shots have been lacking just that.  A lot of the more advanced effects seem to be cheapened.  Perhaps it is simply their screenshot selection that sucks.  I'm hoping that you can tweak Warhead to offer the same level of visuals as Crysis.

I mean, compare.  The first is a promo shot and the second is a shot taken from my PC.  Both shots were downscaled from their original resolutions (to avoid excessive scrolling).  The lighting (in Warhead) seems so flat in comparison.  Again, hopefully this can be adjusted.

I didn't know it will be half-priced, that changes things.

It's obvious Warhead cuts some things here & there, I just hope, as much as dark1x, that you will be able to turn everything back on - I mean average PCs are faster today than when Crysis launched.

Ok yeah then I could see that.

First thing I saw:

A less-convoluted Crysis takes its cue from Call of Duty.

Gotta actually read it now and hope that isn't as bad as it sounds.

Nevermind, this is just about multiplayer.  Crisis averted.  Sounds good.
