And PSP model 3000 was announced.  Biggest new feature is that the screen is getting an overhaul.

Quote
It brings you all the functionality of the old PSP, looks the same, actually... hmm. Hm, the LCD screen is "enhanced" He's explaining what that means. The intensity of colors have been increased. Crisper colors in outside natural light, reducing glare. Screens for the win!

Hopefully no more blur, because that would make a huge difference.

Also a built in mic.

PSP Slim has slightly less blur, but still quite bad.

yes you can put cfw on a psp in the daxter bundle. and the ghosting is somewhat improved.

with no guarantee whatsoever that the new psp will have a markedly improved screen i say go for the daxter bundle.

unless you actually give a shit about the microphone

actually i guarantee you the screen update will be marginal at best. thinking it will do away will ghosting is living in a dream world.

No need to jump to big conclusions on the new PSP screen yet.  People are going to be checking them out tomorrow and all.

* Nobody uses the microphone on the DS, even when it's mandatory (you can just rub your finger on it)

* Nobody uses the microphone on the PSP

* Nobody uses Skype on the PSP

* But you can get free games on both the DS and PSP

The choice is clear

that's right. get the daxter bundle while you can so you can have cfw now.

the current psp's have been out for a while now and they haven't been cracked yet.

and a psp w/o cfw is basically worthless.

Does anyone have a good tutorial for installing CFW?  I'm distinguished mentally-challenged and have read a bunch of them and have no clue what to do.

Thanks.  The thing that concerns me the most is the Pandora battery.  If I'm reading correct, I can buy a battery that already Pandoraized or whatever?  I'm looking at http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?productid=17184, would that be acceptable?

Just make your own. It's not that hard at all, and all you need is an exacto knife and windows xp and a mechanical pencil.

mmm, psp. what are these good ps3 games?

(Image removed from quote.)

You guys don't even need to comment.  He has a 360, so you take out the multiplatform games, and you have MGS4, Resistance, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and HSG5.  Is that worth it to you?

The PSP has an awesome software library.  Hacking it just makes it even better and able to do more.

I have been playing my PS3 a lot lately, but that's because of Soul Calibur IV and Bionic Commando Rearmed.  Two games that are also on 360.  Generally my PS3 gets used for PS2 games and movies.  It feels like a waste of a console in its current state, which is weird since the PS1 and PS2 kicked so much ass by this point.

From left to right

1. I thought it looked better on PS3, although the online is hell on the PS3 admittedly. Still, DualShock with classic config controls is the way to go
2. If this was Rock Band, probably better on PS3 due to the wireless capability of the controllers. Still, it's on 360.
3. Better on PS3, good call (actually I need to buy this now that I think about it)
4. Haven't played it.
5. My favorite game of the ever. Nothing on 360 touches it IMO. Online is admittedly shitty at first due to Konami ID fuckupery, but once you get past that it's pretty damn awesome. Plus, it's not six hours long like Gears is and is a much more satisfactory ending to a series than Halo 3 ever thought about being.
6. Legitimately better on 360
7. Awesome.
8. Underrated, better than Gears
9. Haven't played it (PS3 exclusive though)
10. Finally up to par from what I've played so far
11. LOL. Six hours and a final boss with a ridiculous difficulty spike. In fact, it reminded me of the final boss in Gears.
12. Also on 360
13. Underrated, pure fun.
14.Haven't played it (PS3 exclusive though)

So are ANY of the PSPs on the market right now un-Pandorable?  I need a new slim and if Pandora is going to be impossible soon, I need one now.

You're joking, right?  The first 2 acts are great, but the rest of the game makes me embarrassed that I was ever an MGS fan.

Why does Bloodwake say it's not six hours long like Gears is? There's a reason for that

The first 2 acts are great

i think that made my later-in-the-game backlash so much more angry. The first 2 acts were some of the best gaming of the year, then Kojima just seems to give it up after that.

I think after the MGS2 backlash, Kojima just went nutso with the fanservice.  It worked very well in MGS3, but the latter half of MGS4 is animu bad.  It's like he turned the weird side of MGS2 and turned it into a shitty Michael Bay movie in MGS4.

Also, I am fairly sure my first MGS4 playthrough was less than 10 hours long, if you don't count the "movies." It's inarguably the shortest MGS game.  It's like half as long as any of the others.
