I restarted with a Defender.

Story is horrendous and the graphics are pretty average. <3 all of the loot and stuff, but I wish the menu wasn't so fucking slow. The camera is pretty bad too, but it's all right if you switch to the isometric view.

Oh, and my baldur looks like a drag cyborg. Neon green and pink shit all over him. tbh, I'm liking it. Everything sucks except for the gameplay and loot collecting, but that's all I need for a dungeon crawler.

It's a short game, not much actual crawling. The dungeons are the same all the time, though there are two variants. There's the "campaign" version, and then there's the "replay" version. Same tunnels but sometimes theres a blockade, or different enemy spawn points.

I'm liking the game, but like I've said before, its such a co-op game for me. The guy I play co-op with disagrees though. He really likes it in single-player mode. I just kind of feel like its pretty repetitive and having the ability to execute teamwork manuevers keeps it interesting.

I've got a Defender and a BioEngineer both at level 15 right now. Pretty happy with both since they're both decked out in really good equipment. Is it just me, or do the items have random names attatched to them? And also, are the enemies named locally? I swear the boss we fought earlier was called one thing on my machine, and something else on his machine, unless he was mistaken.

Nah, it wasn't bad - I was a Champion, jack of all trades, master of none

Plus I jacked my equipment with EXP modifiers

I'm doing the "get all classes to Level 10" achievement now to see which one I will do for my Cybernetic run

I just beat the ice forest. If the rest of this game is anything like that level, I'll never play it again. SWEET JESUS at the boss battle. Some of the most tedious shit I have ever done.

Edit - And btw, Dennis deserves all of the hate for making this game. Please pass the Eternal Darkness license on to Capcom or anybody else that isn't SK plz.

I got my first piece of red gear tonight! It's a staff with 1600 damage. Stats aren't that great, but base damage is better than any of the other orange drops I've found.

I am at 47 right now demi. If you still need the teamwork achievements when I get to 50, we can give it a go.

The Ice Forest is far-and-away the worst level in the game. When I played it I thought the rest was going to be worse and that I was sure to hate Too Human -- but the two levels that come after it are much better. Always save your combo meter for the spider boss dudes, because they are among the most annoying enemies in the game. You can murder them with just 2-3 ruiners though.

Thank gyllengod that the rest of this game is better than the second level. I didn't even think of saving my ruiners for the spider things, I just hacked away at those bitches in my rage.

Oh, and I must've died about 25 times in the ice forest. Fucking trolls.

Nope, just whittle him away by chipping at all his body parts like a regular troll. I dont know any other way. The arms, his chest, and his feet should do it.

If I manage to be home tonight (read high speed connection), and nobody else takes you up on it, I wouldn't mind trying. My character is only a level 8, though, so I don't know if that would be any good for you.

I would rank the levels

1 > 4 > 3 > 2

1 is the shortest, and only has gay robots and trolls, boss is cake

4 is pretty lengthy, but it just has zombies which are pretty easy to dispose of, just use far away Fierce Attacks. the wraiths are annoying, and suck your life if you get too close, and explode on death (roll to avoid). the floating fat fucks are even worse, resurrecting dead enemies around you that are in proximity, but overall it's not bad. expect to grind here a lot if you have a quest related to the undead, since theres no other level that has them. i had to kill 4000 undead for my Level 3 charm achievement.

3 is ok but it's all annoying Dark Elves (the green ones that shoot at you), and Thor is useless but he distracts enemies. the boss is just a giant troll that you cant mount, and you have annoying smaller goblins after you (good way to get health if they drop it)

2 is just annoying and seems like it goes on forever, and has Dark Elves plus the annoying giant spider trolls which cannot be mounted. the boss is the worst in the game. because of that, i place it as the worst level.

Wow that ending was...a piece of shit. Seriously it's like the game ends midway through a cut scene, suddenly the credits start rolling wtf, i had just put up my most balla set of armor yet.

The Boss in lvl 2 wasnt that bad. Its the shitty Hammer Troll, Grenate Troll, Spider, and trash mob packs. The Spider is maybe the shityest mob in the game with that unblockable knock down attack. Who the fuck playtested that?

Anyways where do you get the charm quests?

The charm quests are in the Charms section. You have to equip a charm, then do the quest it asks. When (or before) that, you have to insert the runes it shows. Just hit X to insert them. Once you do both of that, the charm quest is completed, and when you have that charm equipped, the effect will be in place (if they hit you, they'll freeze, etc). You have to do 20 for an achievement, and then when you get the Level 3 charm (it will be red), do that for another achievement.

Doing a Level 3 charm requires you to insert completed Level 2 charms, which require you to insert completed Level 1 charms.

Depends, some equipment is really small you can't see it on the equipment screen. Some may be invisible, such as the Dampening Field

woot, after some trouble, we got the team work achievement

and after giving 1 million bounty to muckhole, he got the 1 mill achievement and saved a bunch of time

gave him my extra Level 3 charm. tried giving him the completed one, but that didnt trigger the achievement. guess you gotta do that one on your own.

I still don't understand about half the stats in this game. What the hell is Ablation Shield +10%? Aggression? Soothing? Rot? Piercing? Hybrid Damage?

You're an inveterate pirate, demi -- have you seen the strategy guide online at all? It seems like this game was created for the sole purpose of selling it to explain the 1001 things that are completely unexplained within the game.

Ablation Shield probably means its good against those enemies with the shield you have to wittle away first (the spider enemies)

Aggression is Aggro - enemies come to you in groups quicker; attraction

Soothing is the opposite

Rot is the poison attack

I dont really use strategy guides, or know where to pirate them

The only way to change the color of your armor is by buying the color runes that you then have to put in slots right? Therefore, you trade a meaningless color for an extra ability another type of ruin could bring.

Pretty much, but you have to remember that you can only put so many of X upgrades... its capped

For example, you can only have +15% Loot Chance total, if you hit the max it will say (Capped) and any more you put on is useless

Finished the game with my defender last night. I thought that the last level was the best in the game and I liked it. I immediately started a new game with a berserker. I ended at level 30 with gametime of 13 hours. Holy crap this class moves fast compared to the defender.

simplified for the pinot-swilling drunks out there: too human's character models are so awful they make halo 3's models look good in comparison, to the point that you gain a new perspective on halo 3's shitty models. on the other hand, mgs4 has some of the bext character modeling and animation i've seen this gen.
