Funny thing is that FA isn't fat at all!!

We're all fit in Kalamazoo

Seriously though, I know that I let myself go a little bit after I graduated feeling sorry for myself, blah, blah. Got up to around 225 (I am 6" 1' though) which was the heaviest I've ever been. I didn't really look fat, since I am a pretty beefy dude anyways, but I just didn't feel good or good about myself. I started working out this year and I can now jog for 3 miles at a consistent clip. I know I've shed some pounds, but I don't know how many cuz I don't weigh myself. As long as I feel good, I don't really care.

But what if a fat person feels good about themselves? Should they not because "medically" they shouldn't?

so why not get on the case of skinny people with awful eating and exercise habits, mups?

if fat people bitch about being fat, then yeah: they're fair game. (although you won't ever hear a lazy skinny person bitch about being skinny, because skinny people aren't ugly and ostracized by current cultural norms.) but if they bitch about how they're treated in society? be honest. say "i hate how ugly fat people look," not "lol yer lazy and morally weak," 'cuz that just ain't right if you're gonna restrict that criticism solely to fat people, and instead ignore the metabolic monsters who shovel their faces full of hamburgers and ding-dongs and simply have the genetic fortune not to get fat despite a similar lack of personal discipline

Oh yeah, I agree the doom and gloom fatties who blame the world for their fatness should be ridiculed, but the ones like my gf and at forums like Dimensions and FantasyFeeder who are fat and still active, and just enjoy being fat and being themselves shouldn't get any ridicule by distinguished mentally-challenged people.

It's a shame when it's racist and bigotry when you say something like "I hate all asian people because they all look alike and smell bad" yet it's free game and okay to say "I hate all fat people because they're fat and ugly".

Hey, if fat people want to be fat then more power to them. I didn't like being a little heavy because it made me feel unathletic and like a lazy piece of shit.

FA, hit me up if you want to jog with me. I go down KL Ave from Drake to campus and back about 3 times a week.

anti-fatty chestpounding is no different than anti-gay chestpounding -- it's a cheap locker room rhetorical trick to disassociate one's self from the presumed "values" that the group they hate supposedly represents or endorses

now, we must wait for the next trick: having observed that i am defending the group they hate, i will be accused of being one of the hated group and/or preferring members of that group

and then i will say i don't

then they will demand evidence

and i will provide it

and then they will announce that they still hate said group and i am just a pompous ass

and there we have the full circle of the internet's second most juvenile and pointless argumentation style

i lost weight because i am creeping into heart attack territory age-wise, went from 185 to 140

it was nice to finally see some of the muscles i had developed over the years from my job

other people's weight doesn't bother me, most everyone in my circle is packing a bit extra

the only people i know in my age group who stay ripped and fit all the time have weird emotional issues

I didn't come in here picking a fight about it though.  I came in here arguing points that he brought up.

"no health effects"
"not a self control issue"

And Raban was bitching about being fat and admitting that he's not doing shit about it and arguing that his admitted lack of self control wasn't why he was fat.

Methodis has an ignorant idea that there are no health risks and it was just too stupid for me to let go of it.

Sure.

You start off with a guy. He may be fat or skinny, doesn't matter. Anyways, they go on a site like FantasyFeeder and usually (unless they're a FA - fat admirer or FFA - female fat admirer (girls who like fat guys. I got links if any of you are fat and want some love)) find a skinny girl whose signed up. They get in touch, and the guy usually either cooks a shit load of food, and either force feeds the skinny girl to eat it all, or just makes her eat a shit load, so that she gets fatter as the day goes by. This turns him on, seeing someone get fatter.

The weird thing is that there's a SHITLOAD of hot feedees (the girls or guys who get fed up.) . Feeding someone doesn't turn me on, but the end product - a bbw girl - does turn me on, so I appreciate the feeders for giving me more puss.

In which case I give you this news article, that says that not all fat people are at risk. Being fat doesnt mean you're going to get heart problems. It's just a stupid myth. Of course this is probably the exception, not the rule, but it prooves that fat people can be 100% healthy.

So then you admit that there's a difference between the fact that it may not cause heart issues and...

Well, there isn't any heart dangers from being fat.

Fat people can be healthy, but in most cases the body isn't built to handle the extra pressure and they aren't healthy.

It's not a "myth" if is proven research behind the cause and effect of being overweight.  A few exceptions do not change that.

In that line of thinking, I'll start smoking now because not everyone gets lung cancer!

Fat people take up more room.  In the elevator, airplane, subway, etc.  They drive bigger cars and wear chairs out faster.  You can't get by them comfortably in a narrow hallway.  You could say the same about people in wheelchairs, but fat people seem to have some kind of a choice.   I'm sure it's harder for some than others to maintain a smaller figure, but there is usually a choice involved.  Equating bashing fat people (which I wouldn't encourage) with bashing gays means equating homosexuality with choice, which I thought was generally frowned upon in these circles.

Also, if fatness does mean eating more than other people and producing more methane, then that means more environmental impact.  Sometimes it can mean a greater strain on the healthcare system.  There are things to fairly disapprove of.  Yes, some fat people are healthy, and some skinny people aren't... everyone should try to be healthy!  And fatness is a very visible symptom of unhealthiness in many.  Obesity is a disease itself!

I don't find many fat people aesthetically pleasing, but I'm not going to try to enforce that kind of personal standard on everyone else.  Unless they want me to think they're good looking  :-*

And you're choosing to ignore the fact that being overweight raises your risk substantially.

Like I said, someone who doesn't have sex can get herpes, but that doesn't mean they're at the same risk as someone who is fucking every human being out there.

The internet in general may be like that, but I don't think anyone here is immature enough to say "post pics or you're just a fattie yourself".  I really don't know who you're directing your messages too ...  It seems like you're generalizing common arguments in a thread where outside of maybe the OP there aren't many.

just pre-emptively blocking a lame angle of attack BEFORE the argument degenerates. but yeah: i haven't read much of this thread beyond the first page and the latest.

those are edge cases. and yes, i definitely find fatties on the plane and in buses very annoying, but i can live 99% of my life never having to think about them -- and i don't, because their weight and ill-health (in most cases) aren't my problem, outside of the fact that i simply don't find fat folks aesthetically pleasing. i simply don't grok the amount of time and energy spent harping on fat people on the internet.

and you're being disingenuous by bringing up the "fat is a choice, homosexuality isn't lol u" angle, because that isn't the intent of the analogy. the focus is the locker room mentality and the tomfoolery thereof, not the broader discussion of when discrimination is fair and when it isn't.

i DO have a big (lol) problem with current fat acceptance advocacy, because it is largely low-minded and a manifestation of collective personal insecurities -- very rarely does it adopt the high-handed rhetoric of other civil rights movements, instead focusing on shrill tit-for-tat and incidental hysteria (see: picketing movies where fatties get mocked, and the "fat princess" squawking).

I think, ultimately, it comes down to the fact that none of us can just look at a person and 'know' the true motivation behind their condition. At the end of the day I will still find it difficult to respect an obese lazy person, but find understanding for a person who is obese for whatever reason and is making an effort to either maintain or reduce.

i DO have a big (lol) problem with current fat acceptance advocacy, because it is largely low-minded and a manifestation of collective personal insecurities -- very rarely does it adopt the high-handed rhetoric of other civil rights movements, instead focusing on shrill tit-for-tat and incidental hysteria (see: picketing movies where fatties get mocked, and the "fat princess" squawking).
I pretty much agree with you.  Though the argument I was addressing didn't apply all that well to this thread (unless I didn't read it well enough), so it might as well have been "locker room mentality lol u".
Of course there is definitely a locker room mentality that goes around in picking on fat people... or anyone for that matter.  Humanity  :-\

Picking on anyone past 8th grade is incredibly immature and idiotic.

I think another problem is that they are jacking up the cost of health care.  Since the cost of health care in the US is already out the fucking ass expensive, overweight people need to pay some kind of premium.

Force feed?
