I've only had one diet work for a prolonged period of time, but it conflicts with my job. My biggest hurdle in losing weight right now is the amount of time I go between meals. I usually end up at work early and am lucky to get breakfast. Sometimes, I'll have to wait 'till 5 or 6 PM for a meal. And it'll be a big one (although six out of seven days, it's pretty healthy - fish, poultry, whole grains, etc.). And because my ALREADY slow metabolism has become even slower - it converts a lot of it to fat, I gather.
After I get back from Vegas, I might consult my physician and concede to his recommendation to start some kind of medication to help me. I really didn't want to, though.
In a perfect world according to my physician and nutritionist, I'd drink almost no caffeine (almost a necessity with my hours) and have several snacks free of sugar and low in complex carbs spaced between three meals. And no late night eating (but try doing that after you get home at 10:30 PM and haven't had anything to eat since 11:30 AM!). It might come to me getting another job, because I don't want to be in my late 20s and battling my weight.
