Instead of selling my Wii, I'm thinking sell the Xbox that my brother gave me a while back and maybe a few DS games that I don't think I'll ever play again.

Anyone know the trade in value for the Xbox at Gamestop?

Around $120 without the HDD. HDD is worth $15 or so.

wait, dq4 is out this week, too?

Er, I meant getting that in mid Sept. and either IU or Disgaea 3 late in that month. Guess I'm just anxious for this damn month to be over.

Infinite Undiscovery IGN review
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/902/902768p2.html

7.5    Presentation
The story is engaging and while it does rely on many standards, there are some unique elements that help it stand out. Mysterious lack of voice dialogue in 20% of cut-scenes boggles the mind.
7.0    Graphics
There are moments when Infinite Undiscovery looks really good. In fact, you can really appreciate the detail when the framerate slows to a crawl. The character design is forgettable.
7.0    Sound
No Japanese voice option and average American voices will leave many unhappy. The score is one of the bright spots.
7.5    Gameplay
The real-time combat system is simple and enjoyable, but the Connect Attacks don't work well and there are far too many characters to manage for an RPG this short.
7.0    Lasting Appeal
For an RPG, this is a pretty brief experience. Doing everything may take you 35 hours, but the side quests are often so boring, it's a struggle to do it all.
7.1
Decent    OVERALL

They're adding $20 to used systems until Aug 31, so that brings it to $55. Bye bye Xbox.

Another Tri-Ace flopza.  They are only reliable when they make a game with Valkyrie in the title.

If it's worse than Radiata Stories and SO3, do you really want to play it?  Tri-Ace isn't a very good developer.

I am going to buy it no matter what, but I still have a long way to go before I take back my claim that this is the best RPG this gen so far.  I still think it looks really awesome outside of the frame rate.  I has a red unicorn bear in it.

And SO3 was good, but I never played Radiata Stories.

SO3 was an abortion hitting the floor.  The terrible cut scenes made the game playable.  Sure, you could skip the terrible voice acting, but you had to watch the characters pantomime for 5 fucking seconds even though you canceled the talking.

I'm so saturated from in stuff that I barely even notice it anymore.  I rarely, if ever, care about RPG storyline or anything like that; it is a mix of style and combat that draws me in, and Infinite Undiscovery looks to have both.  This is why I enjoy Grandia and Tales games.

Actually, I think it was Crisis Core that pushed me over the edge with the lame in-game cut scenes.  That set a new level of what isn't acceptable in a game.

so3 fucking sucks and so does radiata.

i completed the first disc of so3 but simply could not force myself to play any further. i made it a few hours into radiata before i shelved it forever.

The IGN video review for IU makes it sound like this guy hates the game.

Other than the shitty frame rate, I still think it looks great.  I am still surprised by how bad the frame rate is; it actually reminds me of Mass Effect.

vesperia is really solid so far, and i actually feel  a mild urge to pay attention to the plot, which is ever so rare for tales games. it seems REALLY polished.

Abyss disappointed me, so much running around and it felt like the story was at a crawl. There wasn't even a good amount of content to keep me going. I hope Vesperia is different.

Well according to a post from BlimBlim the asia version should be out in September (Sep 4th actually) but a rumor is going around that its not region free.

But keep your fingers crossed till official confirmation.

I believe Shane B recommended ToV. So, that's pretty much a two thumbs up approval for IU in my book.
