Question about Vista + Downgrading etc etc
« on: August 27, 2008, 09:48:20 AM »
I'm not messed up anymore, sorry about that. But I have a legit question now  :o!

I'm currently running Vista Premium but my harddrive is filling up like a gay bar in San Francisco. And for some reason it's running so slow and shitty on my laptop and making my laptop extremely hot and i fear that my laptop will die anytime soon.

What i'm wondering is, should I just reinstall VP or go down to XP or even linux?

I don't really play much PC games or program games anymore, just use a few programs, them being:

*Microsoft Office
*Firefox
*Email
*Guitar Pro
*Photoshop

I mean, sometimes I like to play a round or two of TF2, but I wouldn't die if I couldn't play it.

Help me please, eb!

update laptop bios
update drivers (graphics mostly)
download windows updates (sp1)

or just go xp since you don't really need vista anyway.

well I was using some hacked drivers from laptopvideo2go because dell still has old as shit drivers for my card on this (8400m GS), and they've been working decently but I think it overheats the laptop :/

How hard is it to downgrade to XP?

not hard at all unless dell doesn't have xp drivers for your laptop, that could be a real pain, no?

my friend said the same thing once about his hacked acer's laptop graphics card driver, the fans were pretty loud.
