There are certain movies that NEED to be seen on a theater screen, and those aren't always films with epic vistas and big explosions. Sometimes its a film like A History of Violence where you can miss LOTS of subtle acting, the way the shot compositions plays out, and lots of other subtle shit that you just wouldn't see on a home screen.
I first saw the movie in a theater and was blown away, the 2nd time I saw it at home and was less taken with it. I can understand somebody not digging it, but really, to call it terrible by any means is a bit of a stretch.
