Gemaga is reporting that today Sony unveiled the new PSP-3000 model's release date and pricing in Japan. It'll be out on 16th October for 19800yen. Why would you need wireless? As long as your PS3 is online, and you have a PS3 model that supports wireless to communicate with the PSP via ad-hoc, it'll work.http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20080902/psp3k.htmWatch Impress' write up makes it really clear. The PSP has to communicate with the PS3 via ad-hoc, that's all. PSP-1000 to 3000 models will all be able to use this feature, but 20gig PS3 models without wifi will not.
