The game's Japanese sales indicate to me that there is still a hardcore gaming segment in Japan that follows the news as ardently and feverishly as message board crawlers do in America. 40,000 on the 360? When you're looking at the 360 demographic in Japan anyway, it's not too much of a stretch.

Maybe the hardcore section in the west is just that big? If Two Worlds can sell close to 250k copies, that tells me that the X360 fanbase are just rabid game buyers.

It's possible the "hardcore" is something like 4 million people (or more...), but I don't think so.

AssCrud? Smelling more like LastassesPeeved to me.

I don't get this one. Is it Lost Odyssey?

I'm dying to see where they go next.  The setting was great but getting another game in the same locale would not be remotely as interesting as something brand new.  In that respect, I think the way they set up the game with the memories is awesome.

I want to say I think they have to stay there. I wonder what the time investment in modeling the world and designing all that climbable stuff was. I think it would be too great for them to take the game somewhere else, but man it would be nice if the sequel was Desmond in modern day New York or something after having "awakened."

i wouldn't be surprised to see it take place in teh same setting.  i am looking forward to other settings though.  old japan, modern day cities, wild west - tons of cool potential settings.  they just need to flesh out the rest of the game so it's all on par with the nice premise.

The ending pointed at a lot of options, including Japan.

I have no idea where they might go next (I'm not into hyper-analysing the ending like some) but it seems Desmond in a modern world is pretty likely at some point.  Maybe they'll do some more games in his memories first though.

I think Ubi's intention is to wait quite a long time before the next game comes out so there'll be ample time to do new environments I guess.

Well, i think the sequel has to follow on the shoes right, you gotta have a badass looking character, and make it still about this agile character, that plays outside the law, is an assassin, uses social stealth.

So europe could work, but they would have to rip off Thief. They could do it anyway, i would be all for it. Japan could work too, either get this samurai type of dude going on, or ninja most likely.

It could also happen that you will travel not to one culture but to more than one, the Kingdom while beautiful to just walk across on your horse, was pretty much put aside midway through the game, so they could do cities in different time periods and places, which would mix nicely with a possible "near future" city that is placed in the time of our hero.

We'll see, there's soo many possibilities, it's awesome.

I think they said they want to stretch out the POP and AC releases which makes a nice change.  Alternating years seems likely but longer periods would be even better.

It was rumored but not confirmed that she's working on I Am Alive! though.
