That video also gives a good look at what the hell Disiddia actually *is*. So it's NOT a fighting game? You move the characters across the board in a strategy game fashion, and when you engage an enemy you DO end up fighting them?

I also see limit breaks, trances, overdrives, the works. BLITZBALL!!!

Ultimate fan service game. When is this coming out in the west?

I find it funny there's no sign of FFXI or FFXII at all.

I wasn't interested in this at all before, but now I kinda am.  May buy depending on impressions.

btw Nomura said he tried to base Tidus off Amano's illustration but "I don't think I got it right.  The character model's already done though so too late to change"

the game doesn't come out till dec in japan, so i think we'd be lucky if we got it in early 2009.  i really hope this game is able to please my huge ff boner in the way that it should.

I bet Nomura has an extreme distaste for FFXII because he wasn't asked to work on it. With the earlier games he wasn't around, but to be passed over in favor of Yoshida probably pissed him off.

That and he was doing KH2.

I view a purchase of this game as roughly equivalent to ingesting a gallon of Nomura's viscous manfluid.  Running FF nostalgia through the filter of Nomura's interpretation takes away the appeal for me.

This should've been an epic rpg with lots of FF characters, not a party game ala Super Smash  :'(
