QTEs are the perfect way to take an in-game moment which is a chance for player creativity and problem solving, and turn it into a Pavlovian stimulus/response twitch to unlock pre-canned movies. Whoop-tee-fucking-doo.

That's why the scarab boss battles in Halo 3 rock, most epic shit I did last holiday. Snipered them, boarded them with a warthog or a chopper, airdropped onto them from a hornet etc.
