Where's my news from Japan?
« on: September 09, 2008, 11:22:51 PM »
NCSX made some comment about there being no new Famitsu this week due to a holiday. Any truth to that?

I don't know if this is a really elaborate joke or not, but they're talking about Phantasy Star Online DS, complete with a grainy scan.

If it's true, consider me excited. I've always wanted portable PSO (not PSU).

Crap, I lost the scan. Oh well.

You should've acted totally serious about that, Himuro might have posted it on GAF, leading to hilarity in a couple hours.

Sengoku Basara on the PSP? Awesome. I'd love to see a next-gen version, but PSP will suffice, since Japanese developers are afraid of HD gaming.

uh psu is kind of in the "pso series" anyway and this doesn't even look halfway like pso

the megaman zero comparison is probably apt, this is the 2nd bastardization of the phantasy star name

KOF2002 UM PS2

I was wondering if they were going to do one of these, albeit it was announced 4 years earlier than I expected.

Oh well, can start playing Angel again, I guess.

I noticed that the Playstation magazine has a big cover story on iDOLM@STER PSP.

Is there any truth to Sengoku Basara on PSP, or is that bullshit too?

KOF2002 UM PS2

 :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!   :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

It's kinda not needed with '98 UM, but then 2002 does have different versions of the characters and the ones from '99 and onward.  It will be interesting to see if they add in the characters from 2003 and XI and if the Eolith-created characters are still in.

Perhaps this also means that XII is going to take even longer to come out...

Basara appears to be a 2-on-2 3D action/fighting game, kinda like Gundam Vs. Gundam.  I would have preferred a beat-em-up but I am interested!

Damn, the DS would've been a perfect opportunity for a 2D, offline, classic Phantasy Star and instead we get another PSO game  :'( :'( :'(

As long as it's not whatever remains of Overworks because Overworks should be working on a Skies of Arcadia 2 or offline classic Phantasy Star game... but they're not, because Sega sucks now.

The remnants of Overworks made Valkyria Chronicles, so it's not all bad.

I am hoping they fixed a bunch of stuff in DW6 Special which hits the PS2 next month.  I do know that Yue Ying and five other characters are being de-cloned and given their own weapons.  I am sure this game will be based off that version.
