Official Hurricane Ike thread of FOX News super sensationalism
« on: September 12, 2008, 07:55:22 PM »
I'm watching it now, as the anchor lists off the amount of people, water treatment plants, etc. He's said "this is the worst possible hit ANYWHERE on the gulf of Mexico" like 15 times. They have "Certain Death" scrolling on a spinning logo at the bottom of the screen as there's picture in picture in picture coverage of the coastline camaras, highway camaras, and radar.

And of course, not complete without Geraldo Rivera there on the coast line, talking about an "apocolyptic storm" and how the night will "mask the horrors." They just showed a house with an American flag being torn apart by the wind and the anchor saying "as old glory gets torn apart by Ike's winds"

Al lthey need is the movie preview just to make it any more dramatic.  :-\

This seems like a lot of hubub for a Category 2 storm.

The main concern is that 25% of the oil refining capacity in the US is in the Houston area.

Gas in parts of north Georgia has spiked to over $5.50.

This seems like a lot of hubub for a Category 2 storm.

It's only 1 MPH below a Category 3, so its really no different. The storm surge is what is the main thing anymore to all the low lying areas around there. CERTAIN. DEATH.
