He gave me one for the road to chill out since the root canal ended up being kinda painful.  I fellz asleep for a while at home.  In otehr TVC-medical news, I did get my referral to a psychiatrist, woot.

Manic is my middle name.  Actually, the pain is all gone now.  It's not like I'm really complaining about too much valium, especially after a root canal.  I mean, I certainly enjoyed it.  It just sucks losing an afternoon and evening in the middle of the work week.

They never give me good stuff at the dentist. Even when I had to have a root canal on a molar on the side with the mysterious elusive nerve (ie. the shots didn't take), they just refused to give me the goods.  And that dentist was a pimp on the side!

They never gave me valium back east.  I've been to two dentists here, and they've both been up front about "giving you something if you are tense" or nervous.  Maybe it has more to do with me being an adult now, or maybe it's just that the east coast blows ass.

My old one? He was the pimp dentist of the Marina Towers. He wouldn't give me anything before the root canal, but he had no problem prescribing good stuff to control pain after the appointment. As he said, "these will also make you sleep better!" This new one, they never even suggest drugs. But then I haven't had any really serious ones, just a root canal. Bloody expensive, dentists are rip-off artists. Except the pimp one, but he got his money on the side.

I don't have one, not after the last treatment and resulting payment plan. Dentistry isn't cheap, but I'm sick of feeling ripped off.

Thanks, but I honestly think I'm done with dentistry for a while. Until I can scrounge together money for crowns, they'll just keep patching. This most recent one actually charged me for visits that were due to pains in a tooth that he had previous fixed. You'd think the second fix would have been at least discounted, considering that his first attempt failed.
