Goldfrapp fap fap fappp

I got their first album last night and omg it's awesome.

It's like James Bond themes on acid or some shit. Definitely the most appealing downtempo type music I've found during my exploration of the genre. I love the dark strings and powerful female vocals. The only thing I don't like album the album is that it seems like the synthesizer is used too much at times. And the instrumental tracks (title track and Oompa whatever) are ok but seem a bit like filler.

but overall i give this 4 flying saucers out of 5 :bow

I love Goldfrapp (note avatar).

I didn't really get into Goldfrapp before Black Cherry, which somewhat bridged the gap between Felt Mountain (noisy and spacey) and Supernature (glammy pop). Their newest album (Seventh Tree) isn't bad, but it's nowhere near as good as their previous ones IMO.

Supernature is my fave, but it's pretty far removed from Felt Mountain. Listen to Black Cherry next.

Felt Mountain is the only album of theirs that I have ever liked.

I've also noticed online that most people who dig Felt Mountain tend to hate the direction they went in, and keep wanting another similar album from them.

I previewed a bit of their second album on itunes and it sounds verrry different. poppy  :-\

I won't get it for awhile anyway; I prefer digesting albums before moving to the next one. So it's true Felt Mountain is their only downtempo type album?

Strict Machine is the only Goldfrapp song I'm familiar with, it being one of the better songs on Sasha's "Fundacion" mix. Need to find more...
