I'm looking into starting a website, though I'm not sure what it will be about yet. While I figure it out, I'd like to have some idea of what my hosting might be. Clearly I want some reliable and cheap hosting, but I'd also like hosting that doesn't charge you the entire year up front. Thanks.

godaddy is good for beginners, they make it easy to set up a fairly generic website

you'll want something better within six months, though
